glustefs as vmware datastore in production
Sometimes os disk hang occured and re-mounted with ro in vm guest(centos6) when storage was busy. After install vmware plugin, increased block response timeout to 30 sec. But os workload reponse time was not good. I guess my system composed with 5400 rpm disks with raid6. Overall storage performance is not good for multiple os images. best regards. gluster over infiniband....
Hey guys, I am running gluster over infiniband, and I have a couple of questions. We have four servers, each with 1 disk that I am trying to access over infiniband using gluster. The servers look like they start okay, here are the last 10 or so lines of a client log (they are all identical): 2008-10-07 07:18:40 D [spec.y:196:section_sub] parser: child:stripe0->remote1 2008-10-07 07:18:40 D

NFS Ganesha HA w/ GlusterFS
Hey Guy's, A success story instead of a question. With your help, managed to get the HA component working with HAPROXY and keepalived to build a fairly resilient NFS v4 VM cluster. ( Used Gluster, NFS Ganesha v2.60, HAPROXY, keepalived w/ selinux enabled ) If someone needs or it could help your work, please PM me for the written up post or I could just post here if the lists allow it.

Weird issue with gluster mount
Hey guys, I have a weird issue with my glusterfs mount point. I'm trying to touch it on one machine: root at il-bi-s01:/mnt# touch gfs touch: setting times of `gfs': Invalid argument But on another machine, it works: root at diablo /mnt # touch gfs root at diablo /mnt # On both machines the mount is working fine, I'm just wondering what's up with this? GlusterFS as virtual machine storage
Hey guys, I got another "reboot crash" with gfapi and this time libvirt-3.2.1 (from cbs.centos.org). Is there anyone who can audit the libgfapi usage in libvirt? :-) WK: I use bonded 2x10Gbps and I do get crashes only in heavy I/O situations (fio). Upgrading system (apt-get dist-upgrade) was ok, so this might be even related to amount of IOPS. -ps On Sun, Sep 10, 2017 at 6:37 AM, WK

bluster install fails with puppet

Unfortunately this gives me: Starting glusterd service: glusterd. /usr/sbin/glusterd: option requires an argument -- 'f' Try `glusterd --help' or `glusterd --usage' for more information. invoke-rc.d: initscript glusterfs-server, action "start" failed. dpkg: error processing

samba + slave OpenLdap (read-only)
Hello, I'm trying to config samba to use a openldap replica (slave) base. Every thing is working, except when I try to join a machine to a domain. Samba try to write some attributes in openldap, but this database (slave) is read-only, so this operation fails. Openldap can return a REFERRAL when a client (samba) try to do a modification on a slave database and this already is happening.

Glusterfs with Infiniband tips
Hello guys, I was wondering if someone could share their glusterfs volume and system settings if you are running glusterfs with infiniband networking. In particular I am interested in using the glusterfs + infiniband + kvm for virtualisation. However, any other implementation would also be useful for me. I've tried various versions of glusterfs (versions 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4beta) over the past

High CPU Usage After Glusterfs install
Hi Guys, I have 2 servers with a fresh install of glusterfs and I am seeing a very high CPU load.? I am trying to just do a very basic config to get this started and for the life of me, I don't know what could be causing it.? The CPU goes up to 100% across all 4 CPU's on each gluster node and I am seeing timeouts coming from the vms that I am testing with.? I simply copied the

Hey All, Trying to get GlusterFS w/ NFS-Ganesha installed but when following the page below, I get a few 404 errors, glusterfs-server is missing in the repos etc. Is there a more recent version of the same document for CentOS7 that can be recommended?
