Gluster update | need your support
Dear Members,
Even though Gluster team is growing at a steady phase, our aggressive development
schedule out phases our resources. We need to expand and also maintain a 1:1 developer /
QA engineer ratio. Our major development focus in the next 8 months will be towards:
* Large scale regression tests (24/7/365)
* Web based monitoring and management
* Hot upgrade/add/remove of storage nodes

Mount point problem
I just had to deal with a situation where a glusterfs filesystem would
not mount because someone had managed to create some files and
directories under the mount point. Perhaps this behavior is
intentional, but I would prefer that it work like NFS and just
overmount. When bringing a cluster down and back up, it is quite
possible for overeager users to log in and start working before

Backup
We have a RHEL2 server that has had one of the drives in the raid array
fail. I would like to do a full backup of the system before we replace
the raided drive, in case the second drive decides to die during the
procedure.
What is the recommended way to back up a linux system? I was thinking
of doing a snapshot, but the system is ext3 with no LVM. It has been
suggested to hook up a usb

LAA behavior on Incorrect #pragma omp simd.
Hi All,
I have a doubt regarding the behavior of LoopAccessAnalysis on
incorrect #pragma omp simd with -fopenmp-simd flag.
How should the compiler behave if the #pragma omp simd on a loop is
incorrect and can be proved by Loop Access Analysis.
Here is the sample code.
#pragma omp simd
for (dim_t p = 0; p < m; ++p)
#pragma unroll
for (dim_t i = 0; i < 6; ++i) {

dotplots with error bars
Does anyone have any recommendations for producing dotplots with error
bars? Are there packages available for this? I searched far and wide
and cannot find a suitable option.
I am trying to produce publication-quality figures for my thesis
results. Dotplots (Cleveland dotplots) are a much better form of
summarizing barchart-type data. It does not appear that any of the
main plotting packages in r

[common PATCH 0/3] SELinux_relabel: relabel only if enforcing (RHBZ#1828952)
Continuation/rework of:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2020-May/msg00020.html
This is my approach, as I explained here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1828952#c4
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2020-May/msg00035.html
IOW: do not attempt to relabel if the guest is not enforcing, as it is
either useless or may fail; few words more are in the comments of patch
#3.

TCP/IP Settings
Hi everyone,
I am currently converting my AoE/GFS setup over to GlusterFS. So far I have been very impressed with Gluster and am loving it's ease of use. I wrestled with GFS for days, and still do too much IMO. ;)
I had a question about TCP/IP settings. I know Infiniband as interconnects would give us the best performance, but we currently do not have the budget to upgrade everything, so I

What version has the HA Translator?
Does the stable version of GlusterFS, GlusterFS 1.3-SUSKE RELEASE, have
the High Availably (HA) Translator or is it just in v1.4?
