rsync and hfs+ compressed files damaged
Hi All,
I have been using rysnc 3.0.6 with Mike's rsync_3.0.6-hfs-compression_20091027.diff patch (as well as the standard osx patches) with good results. I discovered that clones done on 10.6 using this rsync cause some executable files ( the ones that are mostly compressed this way on osx ) to be damaged.
I did a test twice and indeed a handful of them are damaged. They all appear to be in

An openssl shared library versioning problem (fwd)
Hi,
Below a message I had originally sent to openssl-bugs.
The version mismatch mentioned below was
OpenSSL 0x0090603f vs. OpenSSL 0x0090601f
Meanwhile Richard Levitte <levitte at stacken.kth.se> has sent me the
following:

x11() hangs in R 3.2.1
I'm on RHEL 6.6, R version 3.2.1 Patched (2015-07-30 r68761) --
"World-Famous Astronaut". Issuing the x11() command hangs R and
does not complete. A window is partially drawn then freezes.
Does anyone know of a solution?
Thanks,
Steve

--no-detach option?
How about adding a --no-detach option (to be used in combination with
--daemon) to rsync so it can be run under Dan Bernstein's daemontools'
supervise? If there's interest I'll provide a patch.

group means: split and unsplit
Took me a while but I figured out how to put in common values of
group means/counts, etc. to do the same thing as egen. lapply with
split and then unsplit.

Clustered standard errors in a panel
I want to do the following:
glm(y ~ x1 + x2 +...)
within a panel. Hence y, x1, and x2 all vary at the individual
level. However, there is likely correlation of these variables
within an individual, so standard errors need adjustment.
I do not want to estimate fixed effects, but do want to cluster
standard errors at the individual level.
Is there an automated way to do this? Nothing in

r equivalent of egen? Not tapply
I have a list that has about 50 elements, each repeated many times (a
list of states by observation). I want to create a vector with the
same length with the same value repeated over and over again within
states. The value I want is the number of observations that are in
the same state as each observation.
In stata, this is simply egen statesum = count(state), by(state).
What is the r

Outreg-like command?
It would be nice to have something like stata's outreg that lets regression
output go into a form like
Specification (1) Specification (2)
Var 1 coef(1,1) coef(1,2)
se(1,1) se(1,2)
Var 2 coef(2,1) coef(2,2)
se(2,1) se(2,2)
I don't think this can be done in xtable?

rsync-3.0.2 -- two build problems
Hi,
when I tried to build rsync-3.0.2 on i686-linux/gnu, I noticed 2 problems:
====================
(1) With the Linux kernel >=2.6.20, "make check" occasionally fails, due to
subsecond timestamps sometimes being truncated and sometimes being rounded
upwards (both on i686 and x86_64).
Attached are two files demonstrating the problem: rsync-3.0.2-check-out with
the relevant output
