testing rsync 2.6.3pre1
I announced the release of 2.6.3pre1 on the rsync-announce mailing list back on the 12th. I was thinking at the time that this email would get seen by those on the regular rsync list, but I forgot that this is not how the rsync lists are setup. For those that missed it, here is the text of the announcement: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have

Rsync 2.6.4pre3 released
I've released rsync 2.6.4pre3. I'm hoping that this will be pretty close to the final version for 2.6.4, so please beat on this and let me know if anything weird turns up! IMPORTANT: protocol 29 was revised in pre3 to be incompatible with pre1 and pre2, so be sure to update all your pre-release versions at the same time. Rsync has code in it to detect that it is talking to an older

Rsync 2.6.3pre2 released
I have released rsync 2.6.3pre2 -- the second (and final) pre-release version of 2.6.3. Please help out with the testing so that the code gets a good workout before 2.6.3 is released. (Note that this version will not be in testing for as long as 2.6.3pre1 was -- I'd like to get it released in a week or two, if possible.) To see what has changed since 2.6.2, read this text file:

preview release: 2.6.0pre1
OK, I packaged up the current CVS as our first preview release for 2.6.0. You can grab it here: http://samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/rsync-2.6.0pre1.tar.gz The MD5 checksum is: 70e9dea967f083c231b7821ef35aef1b rsync-2.6.0pre1.tar.gz There is not currently a .sig file for the package, but I'm looking into that next. Please test this and let me know if we have any remaining issues

Status of upcoming 2.6.0 release
The changes made to 2.6.0pre1 have been pretty minor so far, so I had been debating whether we needed a pre2 release or not. I finally decided to go ahead and release what little there is, just to give folks a final opportunity to double check the final release: http://samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/rsync-2.6.0pre2.tar.gz http://samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/rsync-2.6.0pre2.tar.gz.sig

connection unexpectedly closed error
Hi everyone, Previously I was using RSYNC 2.5.7 on RedHat 8.0 to mirror CPAN (http://www.cpan.org/) and LDP (http://www.tldp.org/) and everything was working fine. After upgrading to Fedora Core 2 and using RSYNC 2.6.x , I kept on getting the following errors: # rsync -av --stats --delete --force ftp.funet.fi::CPAN rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (9382362 bytes received so far)

Rsync 2.6.5pre2 released
I have released rsync version 2.6.5pre2 -- the second (and hopefully final) pre-release for 2.6.5. The 2.6.5 release is primarily a bug-fix release to squash some annoying bugs that made it into 2.6.4, though a few minor enhancements did make it in as well. To see all the changes since 2.6.4, go here: http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/rsync-2.6.5pre1-NEWS To read the pre-release man

Rsync 3.0.1pre3 released
I have released rsync 3.0.1pre3 for testing. This version contains a couple more bug fixes since the 3.0.1pre2 release: - Don't allow a daemon-exclude of .* or */ to affect a (vital) "." dir. - Fixed a glitch in the path-checking of the daemon-exclude code that could check a relative arg against the wrong current directory. - A couple minor chdir() improvements in the

Please test 2.6.2pre1
I've just released 2.6.2pre1 to the rsync web site. Please test it to see that it fixes the recently-reported problems from the list. The main fix is the file-list-sorting problem when --relative is used. I've also included several other fixes (though I've neglected to update the NEWS file -- I'll do that now). http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/ ..wayne..

dovecot-stable: NIL from in envelope request
Using the latest dovecot-stable (20050213) with pine, I get an empty "from" header in my e-mails. This doesn't happen with 1.0.59-test, nor did it happen with the first dovecot-stable (20050131).
