samba 3.0.22 and OS/2 connectivity
Hi All I have a Linksys NSLU2 device which is used to hook USB2 drives upto my network as network attached storage. The Linksys firmware upgrade for this device includes samba 3.0.11 which is a non-starter regarding OS/2 connectivity. There is an alternative firmware based on the Linksys firmware called Unslung from http://www.nslu2-linux.org/ The Unslung firmware allows

Asterisk on NSLU2 : Grandstream not registering
Hello there ! I have successfully installed Asterisk on a normal server and on a Linksys WRT610N with DD-WRT running from connected USB-stick. This is not my first Asterisk-installation. I'm always finding a smaller and smaller platform to install Asterisk on. But now I encounter a problem. I'm using the same Grandstream GXP2010 with a of my installations. Every time registration goes

rsync failing with return code 13
Hi there, I'm running rsync on an nslu2 (using nslu2-linux) and it keeps failing with return code 13. The man page doesn't give a good description of what this means ("Errors with program diagnostics") so could someone give me a clue. as to what diagnostics rsync is running and reasons why they might be failing? The only magic to note is the machine only has 32MB of ram so low

Windows XP Files Disapearing
When I mount a drive via Windows XP and copy a file via Samba, the file appears to be copied. When I refresh the window in Windows Explorer, however, it disappears! When I copy the *same* file a second time, Windows asks me if I want to *replace* the file (as if it were there but I just can't see it). I've attached the Samba drive to my Windows XP machine and I can see the file that I

Crontab Nobody
I have a crontab for Nobody. I tried to delete it in a root kcron, which I'm sure is how I dealt with this in the past, but it seems impossible to delete. Should I delete the file /var/spool/cron/nobody? It is owned root:root, perms 600. Anne -- New to KDE4? - get help from http://userbase.kde.org Just found a cool new feature? Encoding on a "dumb" pc
I'm in the process of trying to build a project, and I'm hoping that someone on the list can help me out. I have an Icecast server already running, and some feeds coming in from Simplecast, Edcast, and DarkIce. These encoders are obviously on computers owned by users who can setup feeds are send them to my Icecast server remotely. What I am looking for, is a small PC that is capable

Cross-compiling asterisk-1.4 for Debian on a slug
Hi folks! I planned to put asterisk-1.4 on my slug (one of these embedded devices). Since i don't want to compile it natively on this slow processor, i need a cross-compile toolchain. I tried out several ways such as manually compiling binutils and gcc, or using scratchbox. All of these with the result that i got binaries for machines except the one i wanted! :( I then have been given a link

All, I am setting up asterisk on a nslu2 (Linksys) using unslug. Everything is working great except that I have a polycom 301 and I cannot get the message indicator to work. I have created the users and mailbox in users.conf and I can manually dial the mailbox (*986000). Last thing is I am not using config files for the polycom just web browser. Can anyone point me in the right direction I

OT: Home NAS device
I am looking for something that I can hack away like a NSLU2 but that thing only has one disc and worst of all its 100m interface. Anyone know of a device you can load Linux on that has maybe 2 discs like a NAS200 with a gig nic? I need a quiet device to act as a tftp-dhcp/web/dns system. I thought of just building one from a new Soekris board, or even a mini itx but hope there was something

Basic Linux Advice
I have an old broken laptop that I am attempting to turn into a mostly solid state Asterisk box, mainly because I am worried about the fans or hard drive in my other Asterisk box failing (I already lost one power supply). The laptop has no screen or hard drive. But it does have USB and a bootable CD-ROM drive. It is a Pentium 233, with 64 MB of RAM. I have a PCMCIA ethernet card in it. I

Cannot log in to domain
Hi folks, Just yesterday, my Samba installation on OpenSlug suddenly stopped working, out of the blue. Now, users on my WinXP SP2 systems cannot under any circumstances log in to the domain. Local Windows users however can map shares with no problem. When a domain user attempts to log on to a domain member PC (joining the domain works fine, by the way), they are denied with the generic Windows

mixed environment / why is setting up an oracle cluster on windows so hard?
hello everybody I successfully installed a *very* small two node cluster with a shared volume on linux (both debian, one x86, one ARM [laugh not: NSLU2 :)]). before that, I tried to install the "clusterware" package on my windows xp box and it constantly complained about the three different ip addresses it wanted to see, then I got so frustrated with numerous manual hosts-file

Embedded HW: asterisk with USB ISDN TA on NSLU2/Debian (fwd)
