Interaction Terms versus Interaction Effects in logistic regression
I would like to know more about the output from the terms option in predict(), especially for a glm. And especially when there is an interaction effect being considered. Here's why I ask. These articles were recently brought to my attention. They claim that just about everybody who has reported an interaction coefficient in a logit or probit glm has interpreted it incorrectly. Winbind Issue?
Hello, we are having this issue on two of our RHEL 5.2 servers. We have them set up to authenticate to our Windows 2003 domain. Everything works well for a while, but for some reason every few days the winbind service will stop working, this is what we see in the log file: [2009/02/25 04:02:01, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(41) ===============================================================

Account locking synchronization between Linux and Windows (my solution)
We are using a Samba domain controller with a Sun Directory Server 7 LDAP backend and we observed that when an account was locked out on Windows, it would not lock the account on Linux as well. We are using Samba 3.0.33 on CentOS 5.3 and this is the change I made: To configure samba to perform proper windows lockout in conjunction with a linux lockout,

Is it permissible to file bugs on old versions?
Hi All, I am using CentOS 5.3 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 clone). CentOS and RHEL being what they are, they always use old stuff to maintain enterprise stability. $rpm -qa \*samba\* samba-common-3.0.33-3.7.el5 system-config-samba-1.2.41-3.el5 samba-3.0.33-3.7.el5 samba-client-3.0.33-3.7.el5 Is it permissible to file bugs on these old version, seeing as Samba is up to 3.3.3? NFS mounted samba share
Hi, I'm sharing an NFS mounted directory via samba. When a client connect to the share, he can browse it fine, but any attempt to read data, like copying or looking that the file's properties results in a lockup on the client, and an eventual time out. On the server, a lock ( DENY_NONE 0x120089 RDONLY NONE ) is created an never goes away, even after the client as

access denied & Sid does not start with 'S-'.
Hi there. For some reason I am getting permission denied errors on a new samba server. I can add machines to the domain, I can login with any user id's and so on as well. But when I try connecting to a public share, or the users home directory, I get a user denied error. "\\Fileserver\user is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. getting permissions denied on home folders
First, I keep forgetting that I need to change the email address to reply to the mailing list. Sorry about that, everyone. (Hard to follow a thread that is fragmented like this one now is.) I am focusing to intently on my problem. Rowland, changed to 0755 for the three directories you suggested and still getting "Access is denied" from my W7 client. I even restarted the server and

Error: Mailbox INBOX: file_dotlock_create in directory /var/mail failed: Permission denied
Hi All, We are running Round cube on top of dovecot and postfix as our email echo system. Main problem we are facing is that, roundcube loads really slow for big inboxes (~5000 emails). I found that, while it loads, imap process goes high in terms of CPU utilization(~90%). I asked it in some roundcube support group, They believe that it is related to dovecot not roundcube. Can you shed any

Files missing (not hidden)
Hi there, I have a samba install on centos 5 with the latest version of samba (samba-3.0.33-3.28). There were two files that just disappeared. The users description is as below: I had worked on them ? both were excel files that linked to each other. I saved it as a different name than the original I worked from (which I found to be very ?buggy?) ? the originals are still in their respective

HTB/IMQ troubles (probably)
Hello, I use HTB with linux-2.4.20-ac1 and iptables-1.2.7a (pathced for IMQ). I configured one HTB qdisc on an IMQ device. This qdisc has some classes (about 5) and all of the classes has qdisc pfifo. I sometimes got out from my linux (while I was working) and I found in logs: Dec 4 11:49:27 core kernel: HTB init, kernel part version 3.7 Dec 4 11:49:28 core kernel: HTB: quantum of class
