I am involved with the development of lbackup. This message to the rsync mailing list is related to the following thread on the lbackup-disccussion mailing list : http://tinyurl.com/lbackup-discussion-diskfull

rsync 3.0.7 network errors on MS-Windows
I am experiencing intermittent network failures on rsync 3.0.7 built using
cygwin for Windows-XP (SP2). I am using GCC v4.4.2 and the latext version
of cygwin.
The rsync error long indicates things like:
rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4092 bytes to socket
[generator]:
Connection reset by peer (104)rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer
(104)
rsync error: error in rsync

Rsync: Segmentation fault
Rsync 2.5.5; transfer via ssh; sparc-sun-solaris2.5 (Ultra 1); gcc 2.8.1.
Every time rsync on this box causes boundary violation. I attached two
strange examples. I have a few rsync's corefiles (100MB and above) and I
can examine them. I will be grateful for any help.

Can't Figure out why rsync job stops
I connecting to two offsite over servers, that are connected over dedicated
T1 lines. I'm using the same script on both servers. One runs fine, but the
other starts, gets the file list and processes a few folders. Then it will
hang for about 5 minutes before sptting out the following errors:

Long delays in rsync manifested by repeated entries, CentOS, rsync v2.6.8.
Hello, rsync list folks,
Recently, rsyncs abort during busier times of the day, although they
run error-free during non-busy hours.
Problem 1 - Many rsyncs abort these errors:
Read from remote host www.xxx.yyy.zzz: Connection reset by peer
rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes [sender]: Broken pipe (32)
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (3929920 bytes received so far)

I'm attempting to maintain a mirror of a remote database, ~ 66Gb on a
FreeBSD platform. I do not have direct access to the database except by
rsync, anon. ftp etc.
I'm running rsync nightly from crontab, with the
cmd
/usr/local/bin/rsync -avvv --port=33444 ftp.filesource.org::ftp . >>
rsynclog
generated the following in the cron report

writefd_unbuffered failed to write 32768 bytes: phase "unknown"
Hi,
I receive this error when rsyncing. I suspect this is because of network
problems. But the 'Invalid argument' and 'phase unknown' makes it very
unobvious.
