Question about BUILTIN\Administrators and BUILTIN\Users nested groups in 3.3.3
Sorry about the dumb question: Are the "BUILTIN\Administrators" and "BUILTIN\Users" local (nested) groups supposed to be populated with DOMAINNAME\Domain Administrators and DOMAINNAME\Domain Users (respectively) by default? If I download the Redhat Samba package, they are populated. Not so with a compiled version. I've had a helluva time populating BUILTIN\Administrators

use variable in for loop to name output files
Hi, This question should be simple to answer. I am a new R user. I have a data.frame called appended. I would like to break it into 7 smaller datasets based on the value of a categorical variable dp (which has values 1:7). I would like to name the smaller datasets set1, set2, set3,....,set7. I don't know how to refer to the variable in the for loop, when naming the output datasets. In STATA

Question about --files-from= and folder structure
I'm writing a script to sync some mp3 files. Due to a limitation in the number of destination files that can be read from my thumb drive, I'm not looking to preserve the original file structure (actually, I'm looking to sync *only the files* to the new destination directory). The source files are all subfolders under /backup/Music: ./Adrian Legg/Mrs. Crowe's Blue Waltz/Paddy

Install Location on Linux Red Hat
Hi, I'm having some difficulty installing R on our server which is running RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) 5.2. I'm using RPM (Red Hat Package Manager) and by default it installs R in /usr/bin. Unfortunately due to a very small partition size, I have run out of space in this directory. I was hoping to install R in another location such as /data. I'm wondering if anyone else has run

Rsync an offline database?
Is rsync a good way to make a valid copy of offline database files (TSM, in this case) from one xfs filesystem to another? If so, which options should I use? Once again, the database services would be shut down, so the database would be offline. Problem syncing to Netapp (rsync: failed to set times on...)
Hey folks. I have a machine that I use as an intermediary to rsync between a NAS in another building (the users there have poor bandwidth and need local storage) and the our Netapp located in our Datacenter. I get lots of the "rsync: failed to set times on..." errors, and files which have already been transferred just try to sync again anyway. These are the mount options that I use

Question concerning file permissions in Samba 3.3.4
We're running Samba 3.3.4 on RHEL 5 Linux, using Active Directory authentication. I've noticed that we are able to assign NTFS "Full Control" permissions to directories; however, we are unable to do the same on the files contained within those directories. Is there a default setting that is preventing us from being able to assign them? Note that this happens even at the very

Looking for specific drag and drop implementation
I finally started playing with delicious and am liking it! I''m building an app where people can have various ''folders'' of images and then ''sets'' of said images. A set is simply a object that links to any number of specific image in the folders. To create/organize a set, I''ve set up two draggables. One being a selected folder, the other being

problems with multiple linux boxes hitting WIN2000 shares, cifs cifs-1.20c-2.4, linux 2.4.27 kernel
We have a cluster of webservers running smbfs mounts. I switched one box to cifs, 5 shares pointing at a Win2000, Monday 11 Oct - a week ago. The box ran fine all week. It is a moderate use production system - /proc/fs/cifs/Stats reports several hundred thousand SMBs in a week. Today I switched another box in the cluster to cifs. Immediately both boxes began spewing errors like: Oct 18 11:35:42

Push relay from nicecast with icecast2?
Greetings, I have some confusion. I've seen it mentioned, somewhere in some docs, that Icecast2 does not (as yet) support Push relaying. Is this actually the case? Should I be looking at icecast1 (which does support push relay, I believe) until such capability is implemented on icecast2? Or should I be creating a combination of both? Or what? Here's my situation: I have a customer
