Dragging images across the canvas
Hi wxRuby Gurus,
I''m trying to write a sample program which allows me to drag an image
(by left_mouse_button down) across the canvas.
I got it to work ... well, sort of. The problem is I can drag it only by
clicking on the left top corner of the image and nowhere else.
Besides, the dragging is not very smooth. How can I make it better?
I am using wxRuby 0.6.0 on Win XP (Home) and

Resizing a ListCtrl
Hi Guys,
I''m having serious troubles resizing a dialog with a ListCtrl. The ctrl
will not resize horizontally no matter what I''m doing. I''ve attached a
sample code below. Any help will be greatly appreciated, as I really
like wxRuby :)
I''ve also tried to copy from the example from listtest.rbw, but that
also doesn''t seem to work.

Two XGL questions
I know this list is meant for discussion of compiz specifically, but ....
1) I sometimes see compiz spit out "Could not bind pixmap to texture"
messages, even though it _appears_ to be working fine. I randomly
guess that this is due to me running out of video memory (iirc I
have 64mb of vram). Is that possibly a problem? I think Vista and
OS X manually manage video

xrc file and WxGrid
Has anyone any experience with using a XRC file that setsup a Wx::Grid?
I''m using wxFormBuilder, in which I setup a grid in a boxsizer, with
column names and all. But when I render it via Ruby the grid is just a
small empty gray box, and I can''t seem to manipulate it at all. I
tried adding columns, resizing columns, populating it with data, etc.
but still nothing.

GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE and dual-screens
Hi,
I'm running compiz on a r300, dual-screens setup. The r300 driver has a
GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE = 2048 limit, and it shows: the nautilus backdrop
window doesn't cover both screens.
Is there a mean to let compiz sort of "split" the nautilus window to
stay within the 2048 limit on each screen ?
Thanks,
Xav
PS: please Cc me, I'm not suscribed

Creating Boxpot with R within bash script
I will confess to being very wet behind the ears when it comes to scripting, so with that as a backdrop, here is my question. I can create a box and whisker plot without any problem from the command line, but incorporating that process into a bash script has proved problematic. Below is the portion of the bash script that fails:
R --save --no-save --vanilla << EOF

what does it mean when my main effect 'disappears' when using lme4?
Hello,
Setup: I have data with ~10K observations. Observations come from 16
different laboratories (labs). I am interested in how a continuous factor,
X, affects my dependent variable, Y, but there are big differences in the
variance and mean across labs.
I run this model, which controls for mean but not variance differences
between the labs:
lm(Y ~ X + as.factor(labs)).
The effect of X is

beginner question - effective way to chart sleep habits
Hi - beginning R user question here - each day, over the course of several
months, I've tracked the time I go to bed, the time I wake up, and my hours
spent sleeping. What would be a good way to display this information? I
think it would be ideal to show something resembling a bar and whisker graph
for each day that would show the interval of hours spent asleep (or perhaps
just a bar

Plotting panels at arbitrary places on a map, rather than on a lattice
I think it is easiest to describe
what I want in terms of the concrete
problem I have.
I have data from a number of countries
in each of which a sample of people was
interviewed. In presenting the results
in a forthcoming collaborative publication
much emphasis will be placed on the
multi-centre nature of the study. Although
I suspect colleagues may do this with
shaded maps I would prefer to

rake db:migrate -> uninitialized constant
Hi--
I''m trying to do a first migration (2.3.5). I generated a model
"Video", but when I try to migrate I get "uninitialized constant
Videos". Why is it trying to find a plural class name?
Here''s more complete output:
trans@logisys:models$ rake db:migrate --trace

** Invoke environment (first_time)
** Execute environment

wxruby swig progress
I''ve checked a number of new .i files into the wxruby-swig tree. Not all
of them are fully tested, but I thought it would be better for them to
be there than to have somebody start duplicating the work. I''ve also
added the ''caret'' and ''image'' samples, as well as the generic etc/test.rb.
These need the unreleased SWIG-1.3.22. The current
