Rendering objects directly via <%= render @some_object %>
My original post might have been overlooked by most, but I''ve made a
plugin (link below) which allows rendering of objects directly via the
render method:
<%= render @some_object %> which would actuall render the @some_object
object (the object is even able to handle the options hash.
Rendering would actually be handeled by the object itself, by leaving it
up to the object to

Struggeling with nlminb...
Hallo together,
I am trying to estimate parameters by means of QMLE using the nlminb
optimizer for a tree-structured GARCH model. I face two problems.
First, the optimizer returns error[8] false convergence if I estimate the
functions below. I have estimated the model at first with nlm without any
problems, but then I needed to add some constraints so i choose nlminb.

Directory hashing
Hi,
I struggle with directory hashing. I want something like this:
/srv/mail/c/cf37a8dff5e360927ba10ab2
The final folder is simpel, as it is:
%{sha256;truncate=96:user}
But how do I get a first level from sha256? Unfortunately, the truncate option aligns only full 8bit and does not divide into low and high nibbles. How can I express this for sha256?
in MD5 this would be %1Mu
Many thanks in

No subject
changes, there are lots of formatting changes, and things like
additions of "XXX: ..." comments that don't say anything helpful -
these will need removing before the patches are really reviewable.
A higher-level description of what you're attempting to accomplish
with these patchsets would also be very helpful - but much more detail
than "performance and reliability".

removing rows from matrix
Hi, I have a problem regarding matrix handeling. I am working with a serie of matrixes containing several columns. Now I would like to delete those rows of the matrixes, that in one of the columns contain values less than 50 or greater than 1000. How would this be possible, I have tried to create a simple function for this, but I just don't seem to get it right.Thank you so much for your help,

superscript
Dear R-users.
I'm struggeling to fix the superscript of a label of a figure axis. For some reason R doesn't recognize the "hat" symbol.
plot(1,1,xlab="ligth intensity (PAR)",ylab=expression("mass Pteridium rhizomes" (gr/0.25m^2)))
A very similiar scriptline does not give any problem at all:
plot(1,1,xlab=expression("balsa plot basal

Attended Transfer howto
There is plenty of information on the wiki for setting asterisk up for
transferring calls both from the Dail() command, and features.conf.
What really seems to be missing, is simply how do you actually perform
the transfer?
Blind transfers are pretty simple as you only have two obvious steps.
How though do you do attended transfers?
1.) You have a call
2.) You dial *2 or whatever you have

setvcpus libvirt 1.2.9
Hello.
I'm struggeling a little bit with the setvcpus command. I'm trying now
to get this running for a linux VM. Here is what i have:
<vcpu placement='auto' current='2'>4</vcpu>
Now the VM is starting with 2 CPUs. When i try to increase the number of
CPUs i get:
setvcpus dev --guest 4
error: invalid argument: requested vcpu count is greater than the count

quality and delay test
It there avalible quality and delay test for sip connections for
asterisk. Something like to clients making a call with different codecs and
measuring delay , jitter ? I know there is a Astertest but in that you
need 2 asterisk mashines (which is usually hard to have).
I was looking for perl/bash scripts running sip clients in a finite
loop + etheral to measure packet properties , gathering logs.

You suggestion for 'big' filesystem management Best Practice?
Hi,
we plan to set up a big file storage for media files like uncompressed
movies from student film projects, dvd images etc.
It should be some sort of archive and will not bee accessed by more than
may be 5 people at the same time.
The iSCSI RAID we have is about 26TB netto and I'm again faced with the
question: How many partitions, which filesystem, which mount options etc.

Call-pickup function in Queue application
Hi All,
I need a function that I believe isn't available in Asterisk, but I
don't know if I'm correct about this.
I have a queue and I want agents that are in that queue to have the
ability to answer a call in the queue with calling an extention. For
example, if I'm an agent and my colleague forgot to logout I could
take the call when his phone is still ringing without

cancel with a large number of queues
I'm using Samba 1.9.18p10 in our print environment. We have
about 1200 print queues at one of our sites and discovered that we
couldn't cancel print jobs in the 250'th queue or beyond. We solved
the problem by not having more then 250 queues per "netbios alias"
and having a seperate included file for each, but this is inconvienient.
My question is, is this still the case

Compaired to fstab, i get a better result with my nfs mounts.
Before, somethimes, with the fstab setup, when logging in on ssh on an automounted userhome dir, with NVSv4 kerberized. Did fail for now and then.
Now with the systemd, i didnt have any
