smbpasswd truncates password to 8 chars on Solaris sparc?
Good Day. In June, I posted a small query under the Subject of
_odd smbpasswd / smbclient error from Linux to Solaris_
Briefly, a Solaris sparc server running 3.0.25a would not accept passwords
from the Linux smbclient program if the password was 9 characters or greater.
Instead, one would get this:
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
but it worked fine with the Solaris sparc

OpenSSH doesn't compile under Solaris 2.3 Sparc
Hi,
We are trying to get OpenSSH-1.2.2 stable release to compile under Solaris
2.3 Sparc. It worked perfect for Solaris 2.5, Solaris 2.5.1, Solaris 7 (All
on Sparc) and Linux 2.2.13 Intel x86
OpenSSL installs fine without problem, zlib is installed fine without
problems and egd.pl installs fine without problems. These are all the
current releases, I can get the version numbers if you need

Bug? between OpenSSH 6.4p1 and 6.5p1(also 6.6p1)
The problem I am seeing was introduced between 6.4p1 and 6.5p1 (and
still exists in 6.6p1). With HostbasedAuthentication/EnableSSHKeysign
turned on, I am seeing one of two sets of messages:
no matching hostkey found
ssh_keysign: no reply
key_sign failed
and
not a valid request
ssh_keysign: no reply
key_sign failed
Then in either case two password prompts:
