Hi, the following patch to contrib/cygwin/ssh-host-config creates /etc/ssh_config and /etc/sshd_config according to the current default config files. Could somebody please check it in? [PATCH] contrib/cygwin: ssh-host-config and README file update
Hi, could anybody with check in privileges apply the following patch to the contrib cygwin directory? It only updates ssh-host-config to create the *_config files matching the latest versions in the top level dir and it updates a version number in README. Thanks in advance, Corinna Index: contrib/cygwin/README =================================================================== RCS file:

rsync problem after ssh upgrade
Hello. In my setup I collected logs from many hosts using ssh + rsync. It worked fine untill I upgraded OpenSSH from version 5.0p1 to 5.1p1 on those hosts running Slackware Linux. After upgrade nothing works as before. When I try to get logs connection breaks with the following message in syslog on the server side: Aug 4 15:34:44 srvhost sshd[8130]: Accepted publickey for user from

Still no joy: no X11 protocols
Hello, I know this is likely to give me a brute force attack hit, but the only thing anyone can accomplish by ssh-ing to my machine is to provide me with a tunnel into your machine. So don't bother. Anyway, my server machine is running this: /usr/bin/ssh -X -R ${port}:localhost:22 -o BatchMode=yes \ -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no ${user}@${my_home_machine} On my local machine: ssh -vvv -X

[PATCH]: Change Cygwin contrib files to better support PrivSep
Hi, the following patch patches the files in contrib/cygwin. The changes are necessary to allow a better support of privilege separation. On NT machines the script asks now if it should create a user called "sshd" and all that. Additionally it creates the /etc/ssh_config and /etc/sshd_config files follows the latest versions. Would you mind to apply this to the official OpenSSH

openssh 2.5.2p2/Solaris 5.8 problems
openssh 2.5.2p2 on Solaris 8 has PAM/cron problems. If I build it with PAM then cron quits working giving "cron audit problem." errors. If I turn PAM off then cron works but I get kicked out of any session where a password is needed (i.e. no .rhosts/.shosts or not using ssh-agent) with the message "Connection closed by IP#". I get through if I have a .rhosts/.shosts or use

Openssh-2.3.0p1 protocol 2 problem
Hi all, I just implemented (compiled from tarball) Openssh-2.3.0p1 on two different platform: an HP-UX 11.00 (the client) and a Redhat 6.2 (the server). On server (Linux RH-6.2) side the following compile options are considered: # CC="egcs" \ > ./configure \ > --prefix=/opt/openssh \ > --sysconfdir=/etc/opt/openssh \ > --with-tcp-wrappers \ > --with-ipv4-default \ >

ssh failure at password query
dear sir, i encountered something very odd with openssh. when i try to connect to my sshd daemon, i get repeated password errors. this happens on all connections to my server. outbound connections to other ssh sites work with no problem. the remote site can connect to itself, but not to my site. i captured the output of the sshd -d -d -d -e -D command to provide you with some trace data. i

SFTP batch mode patch
Hi, We do a lot of automated file transfers with SFTP, and found this small patch very helpful. The main effect is to tell the underlying SSH client that it's operating in batch mode. Patch is against 3.9p1. Thanks, Jeremy Monin Sysadmin and open-source developer diff -ur openssh-3.9p1-orig\sftp.c openssh-3.9p1\sftp.c --- openssh-3.9p1-orig\sftp.c Sat Jul 17 02:12:08 2004 +++

Revisiting sftp tab completion patch
I've finally took the time to figure the last few bugs (that I know of). This patch will be submit to be included in a few weeks. This patch should be generic enough for portable without too much hassle. This patch mimics OpenBSD's ftp behavior. I'm not sure like that (e.g. it doesn't put / at the end of directories by default), but that is more a question for the community
