How does UDMA mode get set?
Hi all, I have been tracking -STABLE on one of my home machines for a little while, now and noticed something the other day. I was given this system, and I have only run FreeBSD-STABLE on it. The motherboard is a Supermicro370SWD with an Intel 810 "Whitney" chipset (82810DC100 GMCH + 82801AA ICH). The docs say that there is support for UDMA66, but FreeBSD reports that the drive is

I managed to install FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE on this box when setting the IDE controller in legacy mode. Everything works normal except when booting, the drives are set into UDMA33 mode: atapci0: <Intel ICH5 SATA150

DMA related disc issues
Howdy. I apologize for vagueness of this report but I am not immediately sure how to proceed with this or what details will be relevant. I look after a community server which has been running just fine for the last 6 months or so with no disk issues at all. The box has an all in one Shuttle motherboard which uses the VIA 8233 ATA133 disk controller according to what I see from dmesg. The

[PATCH] gpio: rename g92 class to g94
nv92 hardware has only 16 interrupt lines, while nv94 and later has 32. Accessing 0xe0c{0,4} registers on nv92 can lead to incorrect PDISP setup. Fatal Trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode on IBM x340 after Aug25CVS
Hi, We did an upgrade of one of our machines from an Aug 25 CVS and ever since then one of the machines likes to reboot about once a day. The machine is the following: IBM x340 2x1GHZ Processors 1GB RAM 3x36GB Drives (RAID 5) Mylex ExtreRAID 352 In the panic it mentions httpd, but I don't *think* it's apache (1.3.27) that's causing the problem, or am I wrong? I also believe it is

vinum (root on vinum too) throw_rude_remark crash: endless loop
Dear colleagues, experimenting with vinum stripes and mirrors, I'd stuck myself with the following: panic: throw_rude_remark: called without config lock (from vinumconfig.c:throw_rude_remark:103) The system before this panic has two 160G drives with two vinum partitions on each (one for mirrored root and one for the rest with swap between); these were ad0 and ad2. Can't get if_txp(4) to attach to a 3CR990B-TXM NIC

The motherboard is a Biostar GeForce 6100 AM2 using an nVidia nForce 410 chipset and nVidia GeForce 6100 vide chipset. I've tried FreeBSD 6.1, 6.2, 6-STABLE (from Wed), and 7-CURRENT (from
