CPC provider - input welcome
Tracing Fans,
I know it''s been a long time in coming but the CPU Performance
Counter (CPC) provider is almost here! The code is currently in
for review and a proposed architecture document is attached here
for review.
Any and all feedback/questions on the proposed implementation
is welcome.
Thanks.

variables in dtrace scripts
Greetings,
is there a way to specify probes and other dtrace operations via command
line parameters, like
"
BEGIN
{
usr_exec=$$1;
usr_syscall=$$2;
}
syscall::usr_syscall:entry
/execname == usr_exec && guard++ == 0/
{
...
"
[this does not work]
This would make it possible to create "generic" dtrace scripts.
Otherwise, some shellscript with sed-magic would

can FXS ports on TDM400P provide Battery Reversal or CPC
Hello, I want to use Asterisk PBX in front of my old, legacy PBX. The legacy
PBX can be outfitted with caller-ID and is already able to handle Calling
Party Control Signal Detection (this is a Panasonic KX-TD1232 Super Hybrid
PBX.
My question is how would one enable Asterisk to control the TDM400P/FXS port
to provide to the /FXO CO port on the legacy PBX, support for proper answer

Visualizing a call graph
Hello all,
I have been taking basic steps with DTrace and subscribed today to
this list. I have written a simple DTrace script to trace all the
function entry/exit from a given function:
#pragma D option flowindent
pid$1::*mysql_select*:entry
{
self -> start = vtimestamp ;
}
pid$1::*mysql_select*:return
/self -> start/
{
self -> start =0 ;
}

E1s ISDN PRI & CPC
Hi everyone,
I'd like to try to use * & ASTCC to create a pre-paid public call card
solution. In testing is looks good. I've been talking with Telecom
suppliers about supplying me with E1 Primary ISDN lines (probably 4 to start
with) and I'd purchase digium TE405Ps to connect everything up.
What I'm uncertain about is how to handle CPC with asterisk. I know that

Viking CPC-Disconnect
Someone on the list a while back suggested that if you were having
problems with call disconnects, to look into a product from Viking
TellecomSolutions called cpc-disconnect:
http://www.vikingtelecomsolutions.com/catalog/model_CPC-1.htm
I received my unit on Friday and put it into place Saturday afternoon
(SBC in this area doesn't supply call disconnect supervision). The unit

Probe ID changes
OK, I''ve been fritzing around with something I noticed last night,
thinking that I understood what was going on, but now it''s getting
confusing again.
A system that has been running for a couple of months had a hole in the
probe ID list near the end in the middle of the fbt probes. And then a
couple of syscall probes were stuck in the hole. It looked like this:

samba with ldap and digest-md5
Hi all,
I am running samba-server-3.0.6-4.1.100mdk, openldap-servers-2.1.25-6mdk,
lib64sasl2-plug-digestmd5-2.1.15-10.1.100mdk. I have searched through the
lists and I am wondering if I am the only one doing this kind of set-up..
Anyway question is as follows: In my ldap server I have normal posix
accounts with plain text password that are sorted out by a sasl-regex in the
slapd.conf and

tapply & hist
I'm learning how to use tapply.
Now I'm having a go at the following code in which dati contains almost 600
lines, Pot - numeric - are the capacities of power plants and SGruppo - text
- the corresponding six technologies ("CCC", "CIC","TGC", "CSC","CPC", "TE").

Disconnect Supervision UK / BT solution?
Hi all
I'm using sangoma a200 cards in the UK and have the ongoing, often noted
problem of disconnect supervision with BT POTS lines.
Just noticed this post on
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/UK+Asterisk+Details
stating that potentially someone's got a solution :

PID provider can not create memcpy:return probe for 64bit process
I have found that pid provider can not create memcpy:return probe for
64bit process on snv_110. For example, the pid is 10603, I will have
following output for dtrace command:
#dtrace -n pid10603:libc.so.1:memcpy:return
dtrace: invalid probe specifier pid10603:libc.so.1:memcpy:return:
probe description pid10603:libc.so.1:memcpy:return does not match any probes

Why is plockstat provider only present for 1 process
Hi,
I would like to know why dtrace -l |grep plockstat show plockstat28099
lines.
Process with pid 28099 is a java process.
Why can I not examine other processes with the plockstat provider?
Is it a java startup option?
Regards Hans

Running an R script without running R
Is there any way to run an R script without running R?
As an example, suppose I have a tcl/tk interface that asks
for a number (in a GUI) and displays its factorial. Is there a
way to invoke this script without invoking R?
I'm using R 2.4.1 in GNU/Linux Fedora Core 4.

OT: Optimum voice problems.
I'm trying to figure out if I'm the only one with these problems with them.
I recently had a few customers that switched to them because of the
price, of course that means that they have to use FXO ports, but it is
realy cheaper, so customers don't really care.
In any case, there are 2 issues that I can't get solved, and they are
not interested in helping.

SS7 to E1 & CPC
Has anyone worked out a way to transfer the Calling Party's Category
codes to Asterisk through E1 / T1 connections? I know this is normally
available on SS7 interconnects but is it also available to asterisk on
the ISDN signalling channels? (I kind of doubt that it is......)
Thanks,
Derek

No matching endpoint found for incoming call from SIP trunk
Hello,
I have an Asterisk 13.6.0 PBX using PJSIP connected to the Twilio gateway.
I am able to make calls outbound through the gateway, but I am not able to
make calls into the PBX from external PSTN.
Specifically, an incoming call is _received_ by Asterisk, but it is not
able to route the call internally owing to the following error:

putting binary files in a package
I have some binaries I would like to distribute with a package
(I am not the original author; I have the source code but can't distribute
it because it contains _Numerical Recipes_ code. The long-term
solution is to replace the code with new code written in R, or
in clean C, but in the meantime ...)
I'm uncertain both where they ought to go and where they
will work (and hoping there
