[DTrace] new iosnoop
G''Day Folks, I''ve just rewritten iosnoop so that uses command line arguments (I caved in and used a little Bourne shell for this - hence it''s lost it''s ".d" extension). It''s much more useful now. # iosnoop -h USAGE: iosnoop [-a|-A|-Degstv] [-d device] [-f filename] [-m mount_point] iosnoop # default output

Script for Stackdepth by Thread/LWP?
I''m interested in monitoring the amount of stack used by a multi-threaded program. I assume ''stackdepth'' built-in would be useful...but not sure. Been through demo''s, ToolKit, and internals..but it''s just not clicking for me yet. Not sure how to measure start/end of stack size dynamically...Anyone know how to break this down? dtrace: invalid probe specifier
Hello, I''m a newby to dtrace and have just installed the dtrace toolkit v0.92 on a core soalris 10 1/06 installation on SUN v40z. I have tried the following commands: iotop iosnoop but I get the message dtrace: invalid probe specifier and a lot of code. fast reads, slow writes
We have two SUSE SLES 9.0 x86-64 servers on gigabit network, one with RAID1 and samba 3.0.4, and one with RAID10 upgraded to samba 3.0.9. Both have the same problem: when you copy from server to client, speeds are on big files about 40MB/s for RAID1 and about 60MB/s for RAID10. But when you copy to server, speed are about 8MB/s. I have set up ftp servers on them just to try ftp protocol

zpool export consumes whole CPU and takes more than 30 minutes to complete
Hi. T2000 1.2GHz 8-core, 32GB RAM, S10U3, zil_disable=1. Command ''zpool export f3-2'' is hung for 30 minutes now and still is going. Nothing else is running on the server. I can see one CPU being 100% in SYS like: bash-3.00# mpstat 1 [...] CPU minf mjf xcal intr ithr csw icsw migr smtx srw syscl usr sys wt idl 0 0 0 67 220 110 20 0 0 0 0

what files are being used from a NFS server perspective
I''m curious to know what files are being used from a NFS server perspective. I''m unable to trace the client because it is in the boot phase. Looking at the io provider, I believe it does not allow you to look at what files are being requested. That would lead me to the fbt provider. Does anyone know what fbt provides the file handle for NFS client request on the NFS

setAs between a new S4 class and "POSIXlt"
Dear R core team Please apologize for posting the same question twice on R-help and R-devel. Since I was not sure which list is appropriate I tried R-help (Tue Mar 22), but got no answer. Now I do not know if the formulation of my question was unclear or the question is not so easy to answer or to easy (what I do not hope). My problem: I create a new S4 class, containing one slot, data (of

setAs between a new S4 class and "POSIXlt"
Dear R gurus I've a question concerning the transformation of a new S4 class (that I defined) and the existing class "POSIXlt". I did the following: ## Definition of the new class: setClass("dtime", representation(data = "POSIXlt"), prototype(data = as.POSIXlt("2004/06/01"))) ## Transformation between the new class "dtime"

Oracle on ZFS vs. UFS
Hi, I''m preparing a personal TPC-H benchmark. The goal is not to measure or optimize the database performance, but to compare ZFS to UFS in similar configurations. At the moment I''m preparing the tests at home. The test setup is as follows: . Solaris snv_37 . 2 x AMD Opteron 252 . 4 GB RAM . 2 x 80 GB ST380817AS . Oracle 10gR2 (small SGA (320m)) The disks also contain the OS

numerous errors on newly built md volume
I'm constructing a raid 5 of 3 160gb sata drives. They're connected to a promise sx4 150 card, using the kernel drives (not promise's binary only drivers). the raid builds fine, as does creation of the ext3 filesystem. however, if i then run e2fsck (with the -f option since the filesystem is brand new) i get thousands of these type of errors: Inode 15461 has imagic flag set.

Building from a source-code library under windows
Dear All, I have a pair of .cpp and .def file can be compiled using VC++ and works perfectly well in S-PLUS. I wanted to do the same for R; so I followed the guidline given in "Building from a source-code library under Windows" as much as possible and manage to compile them using VC++ and call it from R. But it gives different answer from the one called from S-Plus. I know that I did

Problem with opusfile & ndk
Hi Xiph.org Team. We are using opusfile library <https://github.com/xiph/opusfile> for streaming *.opus* audio in our projects. But now we have a problem with building opusfile library for android with *ndk-build*. In particular, with arm64-v8a platform: Google removed <sys/timeb.h> from android. And now building opusfile with nkd-build crashes with error "fatal error:
