[PATCH] isolinux: rename CurDir to CurrentDir
ldlinux and extlinux are both using CurrentDir variable name. Rename CurDir to make it consistent with those. - Sebastian Index: syslinux-3.71-pre7/core/isolinux.asm =================================================================== --- syslinux-3.71-pre7.orig/core/isolinux.asm 2008-07-13 19:52:27.000000000 +0200 +++ syslinux-3.71-pre7/core/isolinux.asm 2008-07-13 19:53:11.000000000 +0200 @@

isolinux needing mkisofs
Due to limitations of equipment, I have need of using the isolinux boot loader with .iso files generated by roxio. After trying (and of course failing) with an off the shelf version of isolinux, I grabbed the source for isolinux (syslinux 2.11 package) and started looking. It took a few hours to orient myself, but I ended up doing the modification below to isolinux.asm. I then had to write

Converting from isolinux to extlinux
Hi all, This maybe a newbie question in which case I apologise hugely. While I'm not new to Linux I am new to bootloaders :-/ I would like to install a custom CD distribution on a system via serial interface (that bit I can do) but the system doesn't have a CD-ROM drive! I'm trying to copy the ISO to the disk and boot from that. So far I have done this... - Net boot the system

isolinux, extlinux and accented characters
Hello, First of all, thanks very much for this piece of software, it's working like a charm. I'm using it to boot a Linux distro I'm working on. What I want to deal with is the display of accented characters in ISOLINUX. First, I set EXTLINUX up to boot an ext2-formatted USB stick. No problem so far. I wrote a config file ordering to load a font (lat-9w) to display french

boot bootcd (isolinux) copied on the hard disk
Hi, I try to boot some bootcd copy on the hard drive. I read (an try) that it's impossible to boot a cdrom .ISO image . ok So now I "unzip" the .iso into a folder (not a partition ! Because I have lot of .iso), and convert the entry from the isolinux.cfg to a valid grub entry (put in my menu.lst). The iso come from a bootable cd with isolinux. I will make a script for the

[PATCH 1/1] COMBOOT API: Add calls for directory functions; Implement for FAT
From: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com> COMBOOT API: Add calls for directory functions; Implement most only for FAT (SYSLINUX). Uses INT 22h AX= 001Eh, 001Fh, 0020h and 0021h to prepare for the COM32 C functions getcwd(), opendir(), readdir(), and closedir(), respectively. INT22h, AX=001Eh will return a valid value for all variants. INT22h, AX= 001Fh, 0020h, and 0021h are only

COMBOOT/COM32 shell and DIR library functions
For several years now, I've been using Syslinux/Isolinux to load boot systems and love it. At times, I've messed up making a config file or forgotten the name of a file on the CD (or USB flash drive) and didn't want to take the time to load the CD into another machine or boot a DOS or Linux OS to search. The ability to browse the CD/USB drive would prove beneficial in these

isolinux-debug: Approaching overflow

OFF TOPIC: Chainloading CD-ROM boot after ISOLINUX + MEMDISK.
Hi, This is off topic for this list, but someone on this list may be able to point me in the right direction. For a couple of years I have been using ISOLINUX + MEMDISK and Smart Boot Manager to chainload a CD-ROM boot after loading a floppy image into RAM with MEMDISK. My problem now is that Smart Boot Manager does not support/detect SATA optical drives used in new hardware. Does anyonw

uefi and bios bootable optical media
We have been using syslinux (V4.05) in our product for years without a problem. Since we encounter more and more systems that do a UEFI boot by default we want to support that too. So I've been using syslinux V6.03 to create usb sticks and harddisks to allow both bios and uefi boot which works fine. The problem I run into now is that it is not possible to create a dvd that is capable of

Locally attached disk is seen, 40 gig PATA in USB enclosure is not.
Hi Folks, When I boot ISOLinux, the locally attached disk is visible but the PATA 40 Gig in a USB attached enclosure is not. The locally attached disk has no bearing on what I am doing and to avoid confusion will not be mentioned again. Everything is happening on the 40 Gig. Let me explain. The goal is: Copy an installation iso to the disk, boot the disk and install it on that disk. I have
