bug (I think) in gpxelinux.0 ?
Hi, Currently I am building a new PXE boot environment and during that I noticed something odd while attempting to boot using one of those universal netbootdisks based on the '3Com Universal NDIS driver v1.00' (aka undis3c) driver. Using pxelinux.0 this works like a charm, but when I switch to gpxelinux.0 the 3Com driver bails out on me... all other configuration is the same. Have

SYSLINUX 3.74-pre17: (hopefully final) release candidate
Let's try to get this thing released. Dag: will you do your RPM buildathon on this drop? Changes in 3.74: * New UI directive, which allows a more natural way to specify a menu system (or not.) With the UI directive specifying the menu system, the DEFAULT directive can be used to select the default entry inside the menus. * kbdmap.c32: new module

Nessus test issues with open shares
Hi, My name is Joseph Villa, I'm new to the message boards and I'm also new to Samba. I just got an e-mail back on our Nessus scans.. Here are the 2 that are relivant.. 1.) The remote host has accessible LOGS$ share. ScriptLogic creates this share to store the logs, but does not properly set the permissions on it. As a result, anyone can use it to read the remote logs. Client ... has fallen too far behind, removing - but only when listening to a relay, not when listening to fallback
I have an icecast server (B) which relays another icecast server (A). Server B is configured to play a local fallback file when server A is unavaliable. Both are version 2.3.3 When I listen to server B (the relay), while server A is turned off, all works fine ie I can listen to the fallback track without problem. However if I listen to Server B while server A is running then I quickly get: INFO

Does R have an equivalent for Matlab's cell array?
Hi I have a time series of measurements: every 10 min. a value was logged. The data look like: 20100914 08:01 3.74 20100914 08:11 3.74 20100914 08:21 3.71 20100914 08:31 4.39 20100914 08:41 3.74 This data spans several months. I would like to group the data per day. In Matlab it is fairly easy to obtain a cell array, of which the first column contains the date of each

indexing for Wilcoxon test
Hi everyone, I've been asked to run a number of Wilcoxon tests on some behavioral data (below is a sample). They want me to compare each trial to the first trial, considered the control trial. I know I can use brackets to index and select, for example, trial 1 vs. trial 4 (not exactly sure how to set that up either) but it would save me a ton of time if there was a way to do all the

New 'quiet' behavior - optional?
Syslinux version 3.74 introduced the following change (I know, old news really) -> Suppress the Loading ... message if "quiet" is specified on the kernel command line. Unfortunately, for our PXELinux environment this was a very unwanted change. The linux command line parameter 'quiet' is included and passed to linux because we want (and in cases absolutely require) that the

isolinux problem since 3.74
I'm working on getting the latest Linux distros working well on one of our prototype machines, however, some of them are failing to boot into the installer from the CD/DVD images. I've narrowed it down to isolinux hanging just before displaying the graphical menu. After a little bisecting between the last version that worked (3.73) and the first version which was broken (3.74), I found

SYSLINUX 3.74 released
Well, here it is. This is a historic Syslinux release -- it's the first one in 15 years in which the majority of the work was not done by myself; mostly because of the *huge* effort Erwan and Pierre have put in on HDT. I also want to give a special thank you to my new(ish) employer, Intel Corporation, for letting me continue to work on Syslinux. :) From here, onward and upward. I

"keeppxe" broken in 3.74 - short-cycle 3.75
It appears that the 3.74 completely broke the "keeppxe" directive -- not due to the command-line parser, but due to mishandling of the flag later. I consider this to be severe enough to do a short-cycle 3.75. As a result, I would like help with: a) are there any other bugs that snuck through? b) once I have a 3.75-pre1, I would really appreciate help testing it. The goal is to have

Why CentOS 5.2 is so large?
Hi, folks. I have download the DVD image of CentOS 5.2. Comparing with the DVD image of Upstream OS Provider, I got a surprise: The size of the DVD image of Upstream OS Provider is just 2.87 GB(i386), but the size of the DVD image of CentOS 5.2(i386) is so large that is 3.74 GB! I kown that CentOS's developers did very excellent work on how to make the Upstream OS more availability and add
