[ANNOUNCE] xf86-video-intel 2.6.2
Here comes a pretty significant bugfix release for the 2.6 2D series.
The goal of this release is to get out the major fixes for GEM and KMS
that we think we've pounded on enough to be stable -- certainly more
stable than previously. Notable fixes include a significant BO memory
usage reduction (which many have suffered from with compositing),
textured XV suppor twith KMS, and rotation

Recommend a pdf reader?
Hello!!!
evince is a really good ubuntu pdf reader, but for some tasks I would like to use mouse button 1 for panning, because I use a netbook touchpad. Currently panning is only available using mouse button 3, which I would need to use a separate mouse for.
(I've been unable to switch mouse button 1 and 3 around for evince... but that's off topic... )
I've tried many different

Troubleshooting 2D Graphics / Speed Issues
First off, let me start by saying great job to the Wine devs and everyone who makes this project what it is. You guys continue to blow me away with some of this stuff.
That said, I'm having a bit of trouble with Wine (1.3.29) and was hoping maybe someone more knowledgeable than I could help. I'm working on trying to get a piece of in-house software (read: not in AppDB, never will be) that

Monitor Dummy Device
Thank you Jonathan for your participation.
But i only want the same workflow like a second device is wired.
A hoped its possible to configure a second xorg-server or a
fakedevice/-monitor that kde recognize this and you could use this as
second desktop in same way as in dualscreen-modus.
So i ask a lot of people the last days and ok, maybe tis solution seems
unavailable without deeper knowhow.

Nouveau DRM failure on 5120x1440 screen with 5.8/5.9 kernel
I'm having a problem with both the 5.8 and 5.9 kernels using the nouveau DRM
driver. I have a laptop with a VGA card (specs below) connected to a 5120x1440
screen. At boot time, the card correctly detects the screen, tries to allocate
fbdev fb0, then the video hangs completely for 15-30 seconds until it goes
blank.
This used to work in Linux 5.7 and earlier, although it allocated a 3840x1080

[PATCH i-g-t] tests/kms_plane: Generate reference CRCs for partial coverage too
From: Lyude Paul <lyude at redhat.com>
There's been a TODO sitting in the kms_plane test suite for a while now
as a placeholder for actually generating a reference CRC for
plane-position-hole tests. This means we have never actually been
verifying whether or not partially covering our hole with a hardware
plane works displays properly, and have just simply been checking that

WINE 1.3.14 and mouse
I was wondering about those mouse issues...
> Having other weird mouse issues? Try downgrading to wine 1.3.14. 1.3.15 and up introduced a complete overhaul of certain mouse handling code and screwed up more than a few things.
I'm using a touchpad on a laptop with WINE 1.3.31

Greetings Gentlefolk,
It's a long time since I 'cvs updated' my wine sources. I
did that last night, and after rebuilding I was left with
three questions.
My experience was that to run an 8-bit windoze app, I
had to run wine under an X server that was running in
8bpp. This time, I forgot to switch to an 8-bit X, and to
my amazement, the app came up under 16 bpp. Way
Cool!

1.4rc2: delayed redraw of 3d app
Since 1.4rc2, Google SketchUp does not immediately redraw the 3d drawing area, but only after the view has been invalidated another time.
That means SketchUp starts with black screen until you force it to update the view (by moving, resizing the window or orbiting or panning the view). This is also noticeable when you click, double-click or triple-click an object in order to select it: The object

Little help with MySQL please
I had a breakdown of my motherboard, and the replacement will come in a
week.
In order to make all perfect at once, I rather ask one more time before
doing it.
I have installed Asterisk before on another machine, which I will use
now for this week.
I copied the /etc/asterisk directory from the last running machine to
this one.
I disabled zapta.conf, since I am not panning for this few days

I think you're right. When I play video-a1v7x352y240.ogg, some of the
artifacts I noticed in the firewire captured video.dv are no longer there.
The *.dv video is sharper, but the *.ogg video, at 1/16th the size,

Theora for talking heads and presentations
Greetings, I've been trying some things with Theora to address a
popular niche use case: providing decent quality streaming video for
presentations for very low bandwidth users.
The idea I'm working with here is that it's important to have high
visual quality so the audience can read the slides, but it's also
important to have strict limits on the peak and average bitrate
because
