document proposal: TipsAndTricks/ApacheVHostDir
I use named virtual hosts on my web servers, as I'm sure many others do. I'm used to the method of using a vhost directory for the container files. I didn't find documentation for it in the CentOS docs or the Apache docs. I'm not sure if I should take it as a hint that it is depreciated... If I've missed something, please point me to it. I've written a quick

"TipsAndTricks/ApacheVhostDir" changes for virtual host source files
I see someone has noticed my lack of suggestions or recommendations for placement of virtual host source files... Since there are many places to put virtual host source files, I had intentionally avoided the discussion due to the complexities and to keep the document restricted to a single topic. I had planned to create a separate document devoted to the discussion. Specifically, there

HowTo/RAID/convert non-RAID CentOS 5 system to software RAID1 using rescue mode
Does documentation exist describing how to convert a simple, single disk non-RAID CentOS 5 system to software RAID1 using the CentOS install CD/DVD as a rescue disk? (Assuming not) Is there a need for such? (Assuming need) I volunteer to produce it. -------------------- Ed Heron

copying upstream docs to centos.org
Is there a place, from the upstream provider, where we can download the multi-file html docs in a single file? Otherwise, I can download each page manually or use wget to get everything recursively... Is the footer the only difference? (besides any links) Do we want to encapsulate each page into the centos site or keep it printable, like it kind of is, currently. Do we just copy the current

I just noticed that the home page links on wiki.centos.org dont actually match the navigation on the top/bottom, is that by design ? it just looks confusing -- Karanbir Singh : http://www.karan.org/ : 2522219 at icq

Ambiguity on a CentOS dot Org Web Page.
Hi Ralph, Whilst wearing you C-devel hat, will you please have a look at a recent forum thread [1] that has highlighted the ambiguity on the CentOS Product Specification web page [2]. I'm asking this here, as I guess that page really does come under documentation . . . and you are the documentation-meister. If it is not actually your area, please let me know who's cage bars I should

Automated listing of translations on each wiki page
Dear all, This is a continuation of the discussion on "Link to Chinese translation in Wiki frontpage" dated 7 May 2009. To re-cap, I have suggested that the patch in http://moinmo.in/FeatureRequests/ThisPageInOtherLanguages can be used to automatically generate links to translated pages at bottom right of the wiki panel. In addition, I have proposed that the use of a dictionary

page for translators
hi guys, is there a page I could point potential translators at ? There have been a few people who have shown interest in helping with some languages that we do not have translations for at the moment, including russian, gujrati, greek and turkish. Is there a page on the wiki that we could point these people at ? maybe a 'getting started with translations', something that might

What I would like to contribute with
Hi, I saw some errors in the "Amamda backup" article that I would correct and then I would like to start a "Banners" article that describes what files have what meaning like, motd, issue, issue.net and what info they should/could contain. I have also worked a lot with Asterisk and is keen to move the Fedora 1.4 to CentOS addons but I don't know if this is the right forum.

Wiki deuglification Part I
Hey guys, I toyed around with the Wiki today to deuglify it a little bit. I used a theme which is a bit of a "CMS" theme for MoinMoin and played around with the logo colors. The theme is based on the plsavez theme, which I like as it has a very uncluttered interface for people who aren't logged in - they only see some important interwiki links (FrontPage, RecentChanges and so on),

TipsAndTricks/ApacheVhostDir re-org
After much ruminating about Russ's suggestions, including his addition of a second example vhost conf file, I've made some additional changes. I've added a single level contents section to give readers an idea of what's in the document, since it is getting a little large for a Tips article. I've integrated the 2 example sections. I've placed the vhost.d/ section

My God, it is full of stars
And it is fast! And big! And louder! What is? The new CentOS mail server is, which coincidentally also hosts the mailing lists you are reading right now. After three short hours and (AFAICS) no lost mail we now have the following situation: The mailq on the old mail server now is empty, while the new one is already fighting with stale dns info, unknown users, deferrals and so on.
