Vote for CentOS - AGAIN :)
The preliminary round voting is completed in the "2005 Readers' Choice Awards" at Linux Journal. CentOS was nominated in the "distribution:" category along with 18 other Linux distros ... and we finished in the top 3 (along with Ubuntu and FedoraCore). Thanks to every one who voted for CentOS. I really did not expect that we would be on the final ballot, though I am

Need help with an odd issue I am experiencing
I have a server with dual nic's running centos 5.2 1 nic connects to the cable modem, which has 15m d and 2m up, but speed tests barely come back at 5mb down including road runner's internal speed test. Slashdot: Building A Web-And Mail Server With CentOS 4.3
I may not agree with everything they say, such as ISPConfig (I prefer webmin) but this tutorial offers a "step by step opportunity for newbies". Does this indicate that CentOS is now a "mainstream" distro? (Technically speaking its not CentOS 4.3 but CentOS 4 Update 3 but we are not into semantics). CentOS on Compaq Proliant Rackmount Servers
Greetings, Can anyone relate experience(s) installing CentOS on Compaq rack mount servers units please? Easy no problem, easy some issues, or ghastly do not do it under any circumstances... ;) Basically, I'm looking at some used/refurb dual PIII units and will run RAID on Compaq built in SCSI or is it easy to pop in some 3ware SATA in them? Let me know in terms of CentOS 3 and/or 4 please.

[OT] Memory Models and Multi/Virtual-Cores -- WAS: 4.0-> 4.1 update failing
From: Robert Hanson <roberth at abbacomm.net> > or should i be more specific with the question(s)? > the reason i ask is that i just dumped 2 gig dram in a basic > P4 Intel 3.0GHz box to play with. > regards and TIA, At more than 1GiB on Linux/x86, you must use a 4G+4G kernel (this is the default) to see more than 960MiB. This causes a signficant (10%+) performance hit. On
