FTPS setup problem
Hi!
I'm trying to figure out what's going wrong with a "simple" FTPS setup
and VSFTPD.
I saw references on Google and tried, and tried, and tried... without
success.
I'll start by explaining my situation: I have a WEB development server
behind a firewall. It's currently only for the intranet. We now have
an external company that will have to do a new website

Remote backup of server
Hello,
I want mount directory of one server to another over internet. I was
looking to NFS4, but there are no security mechanisms. I need
encrypted connection using private key (something like SFTP).
Or - if there is in CentOS repo (or EPEL) package, that can mount
directory over internet using private key and make differential backup
(like rdiff-backup).
Thank you very much for links or other

Samba "use sendfile" configuration option set do disabled as default - why?
Hello,
I had problems with speed of Samba, so I was looking for some solution
and I had discovered "use sendfile" configuration option. I was
checking all Samba release notes and I had discovered, that from some
version (older than is in CentOS repo) this option was turned on as
default. So my question is, why in CentOS 5.3 is that option in
default set to off?
Thank you for responses

Howdy
I'm trying to run FTP server behind firewall. And i can't enable passive
mode from the Internet. There are plenty howtos but there aren't many

For now i have configured port forwarding and ftp server itself.

httpd with SNI
Hi!
I am currently publishing some web services on a Centos 5.3 server on my
office using the included apache httpd. They are available from the Internet,
and they require validation (username/password). I would like to publish them
all under https, so the passwords won't travel unencrypted, but then all my
sites use the same certificate on apache httpd. The solution to this is

Definitive guide to setting up FTPIS on vsftpd
I have a new CentOS 7.4 (recently upgraded to 7.5) system that I have been struggling with in configuring vsftpd for FTPS Implicit (port 990).
(The latest instructions I've used are at: https://www.unixmen.com/configure-vsftpd-ssltls-centos-7/)
Using Filezilla client, I get:
Error: GnuTLS error -15: An unexpected TLS packet was received.

ftp daemon problem
New install of CentOS 4.1; our first try at the 4.x.
On previous 3.x installs we've used proftpd.
On this one we're using (trying to use is a better statement of what
we're going through) the default daemon, /usr/sbin/vsftpd.
But we don't get anywhere.

Net > DMZ and AllowFTP
I am trying to get the AllowFTP action to work for Net > DMZ traffic and
FTP pasv. I know it is kind of working, as the user can log in, however,
it fails at the port. I have had to open up some high ports for pasv to
work. Now I know this aint cool, so does anyone know what a person has
to do to get the AllowFTP action to work the same way it does if I was
just ftp to the firewall, which does

OT: ProFTPD web browser login
I'm setting up a ftp server. I need to be able to have people have a
non interactive login through a web browser into a chrooted directory
i.e. ftp://somewhere.com. I also need to have a URL that will auto login
a user to a chrooted directory. These chrooted directories will be RO
for all anonymous access. That said I also need to have a staff account
that has upload rights to these
