Samba Domain Member Server -- tdbsam/winbind/idmap_rid -- file ownership ?
I have just struggled to implement a Samba Domain Server, and have some
remaining issues.
I have a Samba PDC using tdbsam, managing a domain called RHEA.
I have (finally) configured a new Samba Domain Server (AUREUS) using
winbind and idmap_rid.
When I am logged in to RHEA as user GMCH I can access a TMP share on
AUREUS (at last).
Running 'getent passwd' I get (inter alia):

[PATCH][ioemu] support the assignment of the VF of Intel 82599 10GbE Controller
The datasheet is available at
http://download.intel.com/design/network/datashts/82599_datasheet.pdf
See 'Table 9.7. VF PCIe Configuration Space' of the datasheet, the PCI
Express Capability Structure of the VF of Intel 82599 10GbE Controller looks
trivial, e.g., the PCI Express Capabilities Register is 0, so the Capability
Version is 0 and pt_pcie_size_init() would fail.

Ethernet over USB
Hi,
Is it true you can run Ethernet over USB between 2 machines?
I have 2 machines running CentOS 5.0 and a simple type A male to A male
cable. I don't see in the network setup gui how to set it up. Is there a
particular device I should select? What I see relating to USB is:
KL4USB101 USB Ethernet driver
Pegasus/Pegasus II USB Ethernet driver
USB CDC Ethernet driver

Multiple PCI bus support
Hi,
I saw that Xen support a translation between device/intx to GSI for a
single PCI bus, I thought about adding multiple PCI bus support but
disregard the bus information so the same device/intx on different buses
will be OR wired to the same GSI, sounds reasonable? What other things
do I need to support in Xen in order to add multiple PCI buses, assuming
that secondary buses holds only

Disaster recovery recommendations
Greetings,
I have three drives; they are all SATA Seagate Barracudas; two are 500GB; the
third is a 2TB.
I don't have a clear reason why they have failed (possibly due to a deep,
off-brand, flakey mobo; but it's still inconclusive, but I would like to find a
disaster recovery service that can hopefully recover the data.
Much thanks for any and all suggestions,

Motherboard recommendations
I have been building my systems with Abit IS-10 motherboards, but NewEgg has
stopped carrying them, so I need to switch to something new.
Does anyone have any recommendations on a solid motherboard that works well
with CentOS? I need a motherboard with built-in video, LAN, and SATA. I
don't need RAID or any other fancy features, just something cheap and solid.
I've been looking around,

Following patches are intended to support SR-IOV capability in the
Linux kernel. With these patches, people can turn a PCI device with
the capability into multiple ones from software perspective, which
will benefit KVM and achieve other purposes such as QoS, security,

The Physical Function and Virtual Function drivers using the SR-IOV
APIs will come soon!
