Mouse problems in many games
I've been searching every forum I can think of and have only found solutions for individual games, none of which are the ones I'm having a problem with. I have an Acer Aspire 1699, with an ATI Radeon 1550x graphics card, dual core CPU running at 1.8GHz. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04. So far I've had this problem with Black & White 2, Cities In Motion, Trainz 12, Hidden &

trying to install 5.2 on a laptop
Hello. I burned a CD with the 5.2 netinstall iso, and installed it onto a laptop (Acer Aspire 3680). Note that I'm *totally* new to laptops. The install went fine. But, when I boot it, it errors at the user login. A screen comes up, stating that X11 cannot start, and that it's probably the mouse. A bit of investigating revealed that there is no Synaptics module installed. It will

Mouse behaves drunk using Wine
Mouse behaves well in Ubuntu. Most noticeable when using WoW, but happens using winecfg or wine explorer.exe. When running WoW BC on Wine 1.0.0 I'm EXTREMELY pleased with the graphics, internet response time, fps. My problem is the mouse sensitivity and response time is poor. Performing a LARGE figure 8 pattern on the screen in a quick fashion does not work. SMALL figure 8 pattern (approx.

card reader not responding
I saved pictures on an SD card with my Nokia phone (1 GB). Now, I'm trying to use the card on my Acer Aspire 3680 (laptop) running 5.3 and gnome. Popping the card in (until it clicks) evokes nothing from the system log or dmesg, and I don't see anything relevant in /dev. (What is the device for this?) lspci has this entry: 0a:09.2 Mass storage controller: Texas Instruments 5-in-1

Possible to change mouse sensitivity?
Ever since I replaced the mouse that came with one of my computers with a Logitech MX1000, I have noticed that I have difficulty with accurately making small movements with the pointer in X because it moves so fast. I have played around with the mouse preferences, and using 'xset m', but neither one gives me what I want. When I do 'xset m 1/4 1' I get about what I consider to

[HELP] mouse
Hi, I'm Yves and I'm new to this list. I use Wine as Win98 but without Windows, on a ReiserFS directory. I use Wine to run Stew, an Atari ST emulator, which seems to be the successor of Winston0.5. I run it in a 800x600 Wine Desktop, in managed=Y mode. While USING Stew, the mouse behaves strangely: the ST emulator runs inside the Wine Desktop in full screen and the ST mouse pointer

Mouse wrap problem with Mass Effect on Mac (wine 1.3.23)
I used Wineskin to wrap Mass Effect (1). Wineskin helps me a lot with finding working and non-working versions of Wine and has worked very well for me in the past. With versions later than 1.3.23, (26, 27, 28 ) the game freezes after character creation. So I used 1.3.23. the problem is (still) that the mouse doesn't wrap in-game. This makes the game almost unplayable in combat sequences,

[ANNOUNCE] xf86-input-libinput 1.3.0
xf86-input-libinput 1.3.0 is now available. The main feature in this version is support for the new 'custom' pointer acceleration profile in libinput 1.23.0. This acceleration profile is quite flexible, so it is exposed via several properties: - "libinput Accel Custom Fallback Points" and "libinput Accel Custom Fallback Step" - "libinput Accel Custom Motion

CentOS 7 : keyboard shortcut for mouse gesture?
Hi, I have a CentOS 7 (GNOME) desktop installed as a VirtualBox guest on my Slackware64 14.1 workstation, to fiddle with it. Guest Additions are installed and configured OK, and 3D acceleration is working too. In its default configuration, the GNOME desktop under CentOS shows an "expos?" (I don't know how you call this), a list of all open windows, when you move the mouse cursor to

Sounds problems (via ac97) / Mouse pointer problems
Hello, I am using Wine 0.9 under Linux Slackware 10.2 (official binary package) with kernel 2.6.14. I have a GeForce 2 Ti (using NVidia's 3d accelerated driver) and a VIA AC97 as a sound card (using kernel alsa drivers). I have tried several games : none would start until I switch sound acceleration from "Full" to "Emulation" (as suggested by wine's text output).
