Issue with domains
I am running Dovecot 1.0.10 and have it working great on ender.ath.cx (my free DynDNS.com subdomain), but recently I registered lemcoe.com and pointed it to the same IP address as ender.ath.cx. The problem is, only e-mail sent to the @ender.ath.cx works. If it is send it to @lemcoe.com, I don't know where it goes. I get no errors either. How can I get Dovecot to recognize both domains? TIA.

Issues with vsftpd install
For an unrelated reason, I had to uninstall vsftpd from my CentOS 5.3 install. When I went "yum install vsftpd.i386", I get this: > [root at 76-240-25-136]# yum install vsftpd.i386 > Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities > Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile > * rpmforge: fr2.rpmfind.net > * base: centos.mirrors.tds.net > * updates: ftp.lug.udel.edu >

blocking outgoing ports with iptables
Hi, I'm using the generic system-config-securitylevel-tui program on a remote server to configure my firewall. So far it's been fairly decent, allowing me to open up ports and whatnot. But I want to start blocking a couple of outgoing ports on my machine. I want to lock it down so the only traffic going in our out of my machine is stuff that I specify. Is there a way to do this

Using the PBX Directory from a Blackberry
Hi All, A couple of customers called complaining that folks were dialing into their PBX trying to use the Directory to locate users, from a Blackberry, and getting frustrated due to the incompatibility of dialing alpha characters on the the qwerty keyboard and not getting through. The issue of course is the Directory application only recognizes numeric digit tones, not alpha characters (not sure

Text file manipulation in CentOS?
Dear All >From my previous posts , I learned from you to make use of 'sort' , 'grep' , and 'grep -v' to manipulate text files . At now, I have generated a large text file from my autoexpect script. To be more specific, I need to find how many distinct records are there in say column#1? How can I filter out the distinct records with number of occurances less than a

Cisco Gateway sending call to * without CID Name
Hi All, I have a Cisco 2600 PRI gateway being hosted on an Asterisk server. The PRI on the cisco is pointing to a customer legacy PBX, the SIP VoIP side of the cisco is pointing to an Asterisk server (1.2.X). In Asterisk, the SIP peer is setup with callerid="some name"<5551212> In a SIP call from the cisco to asterisk, there is no CID name info in SIP debug, so Asterisk

Processes to disable
I was told by some more-experienced Cent users that there are a bunch of processes I should kill and get out of the startup folder. He said that Cent (even with a small install) has a bunch of processes that really aren't needed and just burn up processes. Which ones should I get rid of for just a webserver? MySQL server? Thanks.

T-Mobile and WiFi Voip
I had a friend yesterday showing me his new T-mobile blackberry with WiFi Voip. I could not believe it until I actually saw him making calls. There is no T-Mobile cell coverage at my house but he was able to simply access the WiFi router and make the call. It appears this VoIP offering is tightly integrated since you use the same phone number to make and receive calls over WiFi or Cell.

sip/iax problem - udp conntrack entries not getting destroyed
Hello all, I have an asterisk sip/iax peer behind a linux gateway doing nat. I''m using pppoe with a dynamic ip that changes frequently. The problem is when the line drops the sip/iax registrations drop as well, and they don''t register thereafter. When I check the conntrack entries, I noticed the entries still have the old wan ip address and because of keepalive (i''m

Sending Caller ID info in MD/USA
All, Having trouble getting answer from Verizon. I believe Asterisk will let me specify a name and number that is sent to the PSTN (Verizon) of outgoing calls. For instance, if I have a client, First Bank, and their toll free number is 888-555-1234, I could send that name and number. Verizon is telling me that they will forward the number I send them, but the name will be my company's

Filesystem that doesn't store duplicate data
Is there such a filesystem available? It seems like it wouldn't be too hard to implement... Basically do things on a block by block basis. Store md5 of a block in the table, and when writing a new block, check if the md5 already exists and then point the new block to the old block. Since md5 is not guaranteed unique, might need to do a diff between the 2 blocks and if the blocks are indeed

Open extra ports on firewall?
Hi, I'm using the preconfigured firewall that comes with CentOS 5. I configure it with system-config-securitylevel-tui, close all ports except SSH, and then open only the ones I need. Right now, on one of my desktops, I've installed AMSN, which requires opening a series of ports. I've configured the app to use ports 7000 to 7010 (TCP and UDP). When running

Verizon-Vonage Lawsuit
May be slightly off topic, but I was wondering what everyone thinks of this latest ruling against Vonage? Does anyone really know what Verizon hold patents for, and could those patents possible affect anything in Asterisk? Who knows who Verizon will go after next.
