dvd+rw+r for FreeBSD -- Progress but no success
That's where I first went for information. I've successfully burned a CD-R using cdrecord, as opposed to burncd, which I would normally use for ide burners. I will check on the firmware. Thanks, Andrew Gould --- "Thomas T. Veldhouse" <veldy@veldy.net> wrote: > Try visiting > http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/linux/DVD+RW/ and make > sure your > hardware is

dvd+rw+r for FreeBSD
I'm not subscribed to this list; but I read that Matthew Dillon has ported the dvd+rw tools to FreeBSD. I just compiled and installed the application; but I can't burn to a DVD+RW on a Sony DRU-500A. command: growisofs -Z /dev/acd0c -rl ./testfile result: ":-( unable to CAMGETPASSTHRU for /dev/acd0c: Inappropriate ioctl for device" The DVD+RW website:

How accurate is show translation?
Hi all, I'm using 'show translation' to help dimension my system, but I confused by the results I get. My 2 test systems (results below): an AthlonXP 2000+ (1.3GHz) and a Pentium D930 (duo-core, 3.0GHz) produced similar results (D930 is slightly faster). Googling shows that others have similar results running on other CPU speeds >2.0GHz. At first glance, it would look like the

New qemu source drop with improved kqemu module
I have uploaded a current source drop from the qemu subversion repository, to the download area. Additionally, there is a new Kernel kqemu module that will allow a 32-bit guest to run on a 64-bit host. The current source base uses a different code generator from the orignial Dyngen one. The new one is called "TCG" for "The Code Generator" and is supposed to fix the

memory
To whom it may concern, I seem to be encountering RAM problems using R. I am currently running R 2.2.0 in Windows XP version 2002. My computer has 4 GB of RAM. The problem I am encountering is that R does not seem to allow me to obtain more than 1.5GB of RAM as I construct various matrices. I have already pre-allocated 3.5 GB of RAM as in the command line I entered under

Asterisk Memory Requirements
I have asterisk installed on a Dell 2850 dual-Xeon 3.0Ghz box with 2GB of memory. This is serving about 75 sip clients, Polycom500's and 600's. We are running into problems with the memory. Asterisk, right now, is using about 1.8GB of system memory. I am using Asterisk 1.0.7, Zaptel 1.0.7 with Digiums TE410 1xT1 RBS and 1xT1 PRI, Libpri 1.0.7 on Fedora Core 3. My question; is this

3Ware 9550SX-4LP Performance
I know there are a few 3Ware fans here and I was hoping to find some help. I just built a new server using a 3Ware 9550SX-4LP with four disks in raid 5. The array is fully initialized but I'm not getting the write performance I was hoping for -- only 40 to 45MB/Sec. 3Ware's site advertises 300MB/Sec writes using 8 disks on the PCI Express version of this card (the 9580 I think.)

At the time when the problem appeared I had 1.5GB of available physical memory. *** I increased R memory limit to 3GB via memory.limit(3000) *** I did gs() and got

Help with strategy for echo cancellation.
I have just installed * (RH9, P4 3.0GHZ, 1G RAM) in a small office, using three TDM400's with 4 FXO's each for incoming calls. Outgoing calls are (for the moment) routed via VoicePulse. Phone sets are Cisco 7940G's using SIP. I'm getting intermittent echo on outgoing calls, and my understanding, based on reviewing the wiki and several posts here, is this: >>>> The

Audio Problems - Operating System??
Hey All, I've been using Asterisk for a couple years now, but have always had some unsolvable audio problems. I get audio stuttering and popping quite often. Even if I have just one call up! The server is a Dual Duo-Core 3.0ghz Xeon Processor PC with 4 GB or ram. It just seems to me that this should NOT be happening. The server resources are nearly 98% idle. I've tried using
