Is there a hope for Serv-u 7.0.4.1?
I tried several thing but on the end I get no results, first as a normal user you cant do nothing in wine with the serv-u, second you need to be logged as a root, third, in winxp compatibility mode serv-u would just explode with the error: fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 4132 (SPI_GETDROPSHADOW) But when I had set it to the win2k emulation I got some results: [Image:

Missing Text in Wine 1.1.12
Hello, I am running a fully updated Intrepid Ibex 8.10 on my desktop. I installed Wine from the repositories using Code: sudo apt-get install wine Wine 1.1.12 is downloaded & installed correctly but none of the menus or buttons have any text in them. Clicking on any button flashes the text on it. Everything else is replaced by _ . Here are a couple of screenshots : [Image:

[OT] Leveno HDD caddies
This is very off topic but, I have no idea where else to ask. We obtained some used Leveno CTO7483 desktop units for experimentation. I had intended to install CentOS-7 on one of them. As they arrived with a vendor upgraded Windows 7ProSP1 install without media I decided to pull the disk drive and install onto a spare drive that I installed. Those of you with any experience with this model

Problems with Pass4Sure's Network+ Demo
All: My employer has required me to pass a computer security certification exam. The folks at Pass4Sure have what I consider the best program. However, it does not want to play nice under Wine. I installed the Demo version of the Network+ test program. It is a native Windows Java application. It wanted to install GDIPLUS and msxml6. I used Winetricks to install them and then tried to run

Wine 1.2-rc?, nVidia, and WoW 3.3.5 Problems
Forwarding to list. One of my concerns is that we don't direct users to scan the forum entries before they post. This is just one example of 'me too' messages in a series. And the maddening thing is that folks like Jim below, don't have the problem. Several 'fixes' have been posted to work around what originally appears to be brokenness in Wine, starting about 1.1.44,

XML issue
Debian Lenny, latest Wine. I just installed a program that my WOW guild is raving about. Had to install .NET 2 to get it to run. Only problem so far is that I can't open a saved profile. It saves in XML format. That part seems ok, but I can't open it again. The process hangs on the first of three steps, locks up, and I have to force quit the app. I can open and read the file with a web

Wine 1.2 on Mac Leopard, Civ4 startup error "Failed Initiating Python"
Hi all, I'm hoping that someone has seen this one before. I am trying to get Civ4 working in Wine 1.2 on my Mac and I get so far as the stage where it initializes Python and it fails. I've attached the log at the end of this transmission. It's relatively short as these things go. I can see at least one error: 'import site' failed; use -v for traceback but I have no clue as to
