New Adobe Reader works on CentOS-4.x, speech synthesis reader & more.
Just and FYI. In RPM form, works on 4.x and I will try on 5.x too. Speech is tacky, but if I can get something but the Gnome Festival synthesizer, maybe it will improve? http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html?promoid=BONRM -- Bill

Adobe Reader 7.0.8 on x86_64 system
Hi Everyone, [yes, this is about a proprietary product, but I'm just asking for some tips/pointers] Has anyone tried installing the new Adobe Reader (7.0.8) RPM from Adobe on a CentOS 4.3 x86_64 box? I just attempted an upgrade from AdobeReader_enu-7.0.1-1 (also RPM install), and I'm getting this error: error: Failed dependencies: libGLU.so.1 is needed by

Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3 - slightly OT
I've noticed recently that the latest version of Adobe's Acrobat Reader (9.3) has a really annoying tendency to stop for 30-60 seconds shortly after it starts up to read/display a PDF file. I don't see this on my Windows copies, just on CentOS. Anyone know what's up with that? Thanks. mhr

"fixme" items for Adobe Acrobat Reader under wine
. Installing Pagemaker under wine also resulted in Adobe Acrobat Reader 5. being installed ... and it seemed to work fine until I installed "libwine" in order to try to fix the problem that I could not print from any win-application. Now, when I run Acrobat, I get the following series of "fixme" messages: $ wine Acrord32 fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter stub

Crash of latticeExtra graph with Adobe Acro Pro/Reader/Windows/ during print only (display ok).
I created a report with Sweave today, that displayed perfectly on screen, but crashed both Adobe Pro 9.3.1 and Adobe Reader 9.0 on Windows 7. Output with Foxit Reader was flawless. I was able to reproduce a "minimal" example, which is not really minimal but the smallest I could get after 2 hours of wasting paper. Required: latticeExtra calling both panel.xyplot(...) # both

I know adobe apps have been hit or miss for compatibility in the past but a friend said the new Ubuntu and wine made it as easy as mount and install....is this true and if not is it even possible to install either the adobe

Sketchup 7 and proxy settings.
Hi everyone, I've got stuck trying to get Sketchup 7 ( Version 7.1.6860 ) to connect to the 3D warehouse via a proxy using Wine 1.1.38 (same problem with older version 1.1.35) on a linux machine ( Gentoo, Kernel 2.6.32.3 ) I have followed the instructions for setting up a proxy for Wine from: http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-d582e2a4e92f4d8ae6c3401daebd7d5621eb220f ###### My

SC2, Kubuntu 11.04, Can't Create AI Games & No Maps in List
Hello; I researched the wine install of SC2 and I was able to correctly mount my DVD drive to read the hidden files on the UDF optical drive. That helped a lot. The install ran perfectly and the patches downloaded/installed with no problems noted. I can now run SC2, but when I go to single person the screen changes to the one with a list of maps on which I should be able to create a game, but

decrypt.rb
Per the Dovecot site here: https://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/MailCrypt ... the "decrypt.rb" ruby script can be used to decrypt a Dovecot-encrypted message file from the command line.? The script sort of runs successfully for me, in the sense that it doesn't error out, but it doesn't show the decrypted message. I've called it like so: decrypt.rb -k

samba-tool user getpassword --decrypt-samba-gpg
Hello, I'm looking to use the new 'samba-tool user getpassword' or 'samba-tool user syncpasswords' for syncing to an OpenLDAP server. I've configured the 'password hash gpg key ids' in smb.conf. Everything appears to be working fine, except the plaintext passwords returned from samba-tool user getpassword --decrypt-samba-gpg are different. Do the returned values

ADS share browsing error - Decrypt integrity check failed
Hello everyone, There is a FreeBSD box, which is a member of ADS domain. The domain has both W2000 and W2003 domain controllers. After upgrading to samba-3.0.23a I discovered that it is not possible to browse a share on a FreeBSD computer, but pam_winbind seems to work. Connecting from a WindowsXP box to the FreeBSD causes WinXP to ask for a password a number of times, and eventually say

I checked logs and on every nodes I have a lot of: Failed to decrypt and verify packet And Error while decrypting: error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0) So I get back to 1.0.23 which works
