Keyboard not recognized. Help, please.
Hello, all. Wine's Notepad captures my keyboard input perfectly, but nothing else does. All the software I've installed so far is silver-rated and up on the AppDB (except for some small programs that aren't even there... I'll add entries just as soon as I get this fixed). This includes, for example, Bulk Rename Utility, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and World of Goo, all three

How do I switch the keyboard layout?
Hello there. I'm trying to switch the keyboard layout for a wine application to a nonsystem standard. Background: system standard is dvorak, but that horribly conflicts with the AWSD movement control of games. Stuff I tried and failed: * switching the layout in the GNOME panel keyboard layout switcher * rewriting the xorg.conf for english as standard language * loading us layout with loadkey

Re: Cant use deadkeys in Portuguese keyboard
Same problem here. Using Ubuntu 9.04 64bit, Brazilian portuguese. Can type deadkeys everywhere except on wine applications(notepad, office 2007). I'm using scim/scim-bridge(portuguese/japanese) too and works on native linux GTK/QT applications, but doesn't work on wine..... just an extra information. Maybe it helps to solve this issue.... or not. :-)

Mapping multimedia keys: "pressed key not recognized"
I've tried a few approaches to making the multimedia keys on my kbd play nice with myth, but all have lead to dead ends. I decided to take the simple approach, and use the myth setup menu for keyboard mappings. Now, I have myth (0.20) waiting for a key with "Press a key", but when I press the PLAY button on my keyboard, myth says "pressed key not recognized". How

CentOS 2.6.9-42.0.8 issue - no keyboard after reboot
I did this twice now, although the first couple of builds seemed to work ok, they just weren't configured quite right. On my third and fourth builds of the 42.0.8 kernel rpm, when booting, kudzu came up and ran, but the keyboard was somehow not recognized and I had to reboot using the mouse on the login screen (no text appears no matter what I type). I'm using the rpm build strategy from

keyboard input messed up in Wine 1.1.15?
I'm in Fedora 10 x86_64 and did a system update last night that included updating Wine from 1.1.14 to 1.1.15. Now when I play WoW my keyboard input is all messed up, I hit one key and get the result of another - example W,S,A,D keys used for movement will instead act like the space bar or esc keys, or the other way around. I try to type in chat and whatever key I hit acts like some other key,

Logitech G11 keyboard under wine
Hello, I have a logitech G11 keyboard which has some extra keys - about 21 extra keys. Under Linux with the use of g15daemon and using the 'logitech_g15' XkbModel, all keys are working and can be mapped to keyboard shortcuts under gnome for example. Pressing the key G2 under xev outputs the following: keycode 152 (keysym 0x1008ff45, XF86Launch5) Unfortunatelly under wine the

Problem with Logitech wireless keyboard EX110
I got a Logitech EX110 wireless keyboard and mouse set about a year or so ago, maybe more. The number pad on the keyboard stopped working after a while, so I complained to Logitech, and they sent me a new keyboard (actually, the whole set). I've had the problem on and off again a couple of times since then, but it usually only lasts a few days before all is well again. However, my son also

Hello, everybody. As mentioned in subjetc line, I have'nt succeeded to input Japanese using SCIM into apps running over wine, more especifically MS Word. I tried it with Notepad, and it equally failed. I tried to use NJStar as 'alternative IME' to those Windows apps, but it failed as well... Out of wine layer, SCIM is running as usual. Lenovo Ideapad 320 touchpad not recognized
I'm setting up a new Lenovo Ideapad 320 and everything shows up and works fine except for the touchpad. I did have to get into the bios and set Legacy for boot device and boot mode to get Centos 7 to finish installing. The default bios settings would load the Centos 7 Gnome Live image from a usb flash drive and work (except for the touchpad) but when I tried to install to the hard drive it

Hello, I have a strange problem with a game: I want to assign the key on the left side to the number "one" (degree key in Germany) to an action in a program, but the application does not recognize the button if I start the application normally. [fdo] Standardization of input methods on Linux?
Hello! I don't know how well this fits within the scope of Freedesktop's current work, but as a Linux user who studies languages, I think there's an area that could definitely use improvement, namely input methods for various Asian and other non-romance languages. While several solutions for inputting these languages are available, most of them seem to be of the "rocket

CentOS 5 single DVD for i386 and x86_64
Hello, I'd like to announce a release of a CentOS 5 DVD image, with i386 and x86_64 installations. This is an independent work, so please don't bother CentOS lists with bugs related to the installer only. Summary of changes: * i686 and x86_64 install from a single dvd (automatic detection on boot) * updates as of 2007-04-26 * no kdelibs-api-docs, openoffice.org, tetex-doc and most
