Chinese and Japanese input in WINE- does it work?
Hello Is it possible to input Chinese and Japanese input via SCIM? I've been trying to get Chinese and Japanese input (via SCIM) to work in WINE applications for a long time. But I have never succeeded Specifically I want to use Chinese and Japanese input in the application TreeDBNotes. I have tested the application with WINE at the applications page:

Can't input Japanese with SCIM into Apps running over wine
Hello, everybody. As mentioned in subjetc line, I have'nt succeeded to input Japanese using SCIM into apps running over wine, more especifically MS Word. I tried it with Notepad, and it equally failed. I tried to use NJStar as 'alternative IME' to those Windows apps, but it failed as well... Out of wine layer, SCIM is running as usual. My environment is: Ubuntu 10.4, running latest

I installed fcitx-pinyn, and its dependencies, and I now have ZH as a choice but have not been able to type pinyin and get a list of Chinese characters to choose among like I could on CentOS 6. Hello, Running kernel 2.6.18-8.1.4.el5.centos.plus on centos5, on shutdown sometimes I get: Starting killall: Sending all processes the TERM signal...scim-panel-gtk ...scim-panel-gtk[4065]- segfault at... error 4. (sometimes there is one segfault error and sometimes 7+] Also, [and this may be unrelated] I occasionally can't boot into X and need to: #rm /tmp/.X0-lock Then I can startx.

Language settings on wine...?
I'm trying to run a japanese .exe programme on wine but it won't display the jp characters even when I've set the locale to Japanese. The same situation for Chinese programmes... I've tried to place .ttf files for Japanese, Chinese and English fonts in the Fonts folder under drive_c but that wouldn't work too. Does it have anything to do with this page which I don't

Multiple language output - Correct in RGui, wrong in .txt after sink()
I have the following problem with outputting multilingual data to a file. I get (except for Korean) what I expect as result in the RGui, but when I use sink() to output to a text file loose the characters in the foreign languages. I post a small example below. Since I am not sure how well my email system as the list copes with all the different characters I have additionally created a pdf
