cdr_addon_mysql.so is not created
I'm trying to add MySQL CDR recording in Asterisk 1.4.6 I'm following the instructions posted here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+cdr+mysql but after running make, the cdr_addon_mysql.so is not created. I don't get any compile errors. In fact it just seems to skip the compile altogther: I saw somewhere that one should comment out: #include <asterisk.h> in

low-cost * (newbie question)
hello all i'm interested in setting up a small pbx using asterisk and the primary goal is keeping the cost down. the general layout of the net is as folows: * 4 phone lines (2x isdn+ 2x analog) [or 2x isdn + 1x analog, as one might be put aside for a traditional phone/fax with no fancy stuff] * a server box * several client hosts (all linux with x) currently, the isdn lines are unused (to

No Audio Control Panel Implemented
After hours of searching, I give up and will ask for directions. runing wine 1.1.27 on Ubuntu 9.04 on a T-23 Thinkpad using the onboard sound card and a Plantronics DSP-500 headset. After days of searching I finally got both to work, but limitation in Ubuntu will not allow both to work at the "same time". One or the other. Plantronics only works in a mixed mode ALSA and OSS

USB Headset - No Master Control
Hi guys, I have an onboard Audigy2 ZS that is connected to a set of speakers. I use this generally to listen to music/movies etc. I also have a generic USB Headset that I use, generally for skype/teamspeak. It is detected as /dev/dsp1 and works fine in all my Linux applications. Code: 0 [Audigy2 ]: Audigy2 - SB Audigy 2 ZS [SB0350] SB Audigy 2 ZS [SB0350] (rev.4,

Forcing Wine To Use Audio Device/Mixer
Well, I've got multiple sound devices on my system (integrated HDA SB ATI sound card, headset connected to USB sound card, and my webcam's built-in mic). Unfortunately, Wine does not always use my integrated sound device for some reason. So, instead it will do one of two things: go to the headset or the webcam. Going to the webcam is an auto-fail, and if it goes to the headset it

Help with Battlefield 2 and EADM
Hi, I purchased BF2: Complete Collection from EA's web site about a year or so ago. I was running Windows and bought it using EA's Download Manager (aka EA Link). I couldn't run the game without that program being active. Now, I proudly, run Linux full time and I can't get the game going because it still depends on EADM. I installed EADM, but it won't run. Is there a work

multiline, cordless, expandable phone system and asterisk message waiting
Basically, pretty much all the 2 line cordless systems I've seen come with a built in digital answering system that I'll never use, the main problem with this is that these units don't support VMWI (visual message waiting indicator) with telco supplied voicemail. This is a problem because I'll be setup an Asterisk system in the next month or so to handle my 2 analog and 1

Slightly broken audio on USB headset?
I have a Logitech USB headset which I have used very successfully on Windows for a long time. The other day I thought I would try it out on my CentOS 5 server, which doesn't have its own sound hardware (HP ML110). On plugging it in, all the required modules magically got loaded, and the "play" command would play sound files as expected. However, at all times when playing a sound

Wine and opengl error!!!
Hi all, I'm having trouble running windows games from Fedora 9, 64 bit, using wine rc3. I've tried Command & Conquer 3, Age Of Mythology and Jazz Jackrabbit 2. All games fail. I mostly get an error saying that direct3d9 won't work without opengl. However, I have opengl. I've run glxgears and it runs fine. Following is the output: 8877 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1775.333 FPS 9327

Any IP phones with pro-audio connections?
Does anybody know of any IP phones (ideally SIP based) that have interfaces to plug into a pro audio system (eg for phone interviews). Something can probably be hacked up with a headset connector or the 1/8" jacks on a 7970 but I'm wondering if there's something better out there. Thanks, Julien

How prevent loading of audio driver at boot?
CentOS v5.1 insists on loading about a dozen audio-related drivers at boot time. Since this is a server machine, it will never run applications that require sound output. I tried setting "alias snd_cs46xx off" in modprobe.conf. Yet the system still loads that driver and the many, many other audio drivers that go with it. How can I disable the loading of audio drivers at boot
