[PATCH 0/3] Export and merge into Windows Registry
As described here previously:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2010-March/msg00129.html
Here is the three part patch to reimplement virt-win-reg to support
exporting and merging Windows Registry entries in the 'regedit'
format.
Tested by me on a local Windows VM.

How to run a .reg file?
Hi,
I need to run a .reg file.
In windows, I think I'd just double click on it. If I try to run it in wine, it says it's not a valid executable. How do I run it?

[PATCH 2/2] lib: allow to walk registry with corrupted blocks
There are some corrupted registry files that have invalid hbin cells
but are still readable. This patch makes the following changes:
* hivex_open - do not abort with complete failure if we run across a
block with invalid size (unless it's the root block). Instead just
log the event, and move on. This will allow open hives that have
apparent invalid blocks but the ones of potential

[PATCH hivex] maint: split long lines
Hi Rich,
I find it more readable (and safer to review) to avoid lines
longer than 80 columns. When reviewing changes that wrap,
I've noticed that it is harder to spot certain types of mistakes
in the wrapped portion of a long line.

Registry setting question...
Is there a way to set registry key, other then editing system.reg/user.reg
file? For DIB engine we can export WINEDIB=ON or edit registry, is this the
case with other registry keys as well?
Thanks in advance.

XBASE error under Wine
Hi. I'm migrating the system of a friend from Windows to Linux. He used a program made with xBase (programmed by him), and unfortunately isn't compatible with xHarbour. So I tried it with Wine, but I find these errors when I open the program. :(

Graphics Problem
Hello all,
I am pretty new to this and have wine 1.1.22.
I am trying to run the Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2, and it works, but most of the units display as white (makes it very difficult to play....)
On the appdp, one person said
"To avoid white characters in the game set the parameter "UseGLSL" in the wine registry to value "disabled". So the game

Audio Tab in winecfg Crashes
As the title states, when I click on the Audio Tab inside of WineCFG it crashes horribly. I looked for a way to set it up manually through the registry but I didn't see anything so if someone could tell me how to set Wine to use ALSA or the opposite (OSS) I would be much obliged.

Unable to use alsa, unusable driver for winecfg
Got a problem with wine.
I compiled the 1.1.24 version and a lot of things work very fine. But I can't use the Alsa driver output.
When launching winecfg and selecting the Audio tab, a dialog box tell me that the driver "alsa" is present in the registry but unusable and asks me to remove it from the registry.
I don't know why the alsa driver is unusable. I have the correct

Changes to Windows registry in R-2.2.0
R-Devel,
I note from the CHANGES log accompanying the Windows version of R-2.2.0 that
the behaviour with respect to the Windows registry has changed. It says:
"If the user chooses to register R during installation, a registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\R-core\R\{version}\InstallPath will be added.
Users require administrative privileges to create this key. For others,

Setting environment variables (installation problem)
Dear All,
Is it possible under WinXP to set the R binary path (...\R\bin)
as an environment variable during installation?
(rw2010.exe)
The problem is that I've written a program that needs to know the path
of Rterm.exe during installation.
At the moment the user can't choose the R installation path
("/DIR={pf}\\R /SILENT").
If I would know where the user install R the

[PATCH v3 0/2] hivex: handle corrupted hives better
The following patches address issues when dealing with hives that have
corrupted data in them but are otherwise readable/writable. Those were
found on some rather rare Windows installations that seem to work fine
but current hivex fails to even open.
Those patches change hivex to simply log and ignore such "corrupted"
regions instead of aborting because the caller might be looking at
