Mac OSX (10.5) & wine w/ OpenGL - Info & Issues
Firstly, hello everyone! I'v been using wine under OSX for some time, using macports to install it and it works quite nicely (except for an issue with windows sliding down the screen, which can be fixed by setting a desktop area in winecfg). Sadly I'v not been able to get OpenGL support working. (I am using OSX 10.5.4 with XQuartz (http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki) 2.3.0, which is

For Mac OS X users... Xquartz and RandR.
Just as a note.. Xquartz is going to have RANDR capabilities in Xquartz 2.6.0, thanks to the work of Jeremy Huddleston and Jan Hauffa. Right now on Macports if you install xorg-server-devel it will be a build with what is currently in of RandR... its still not totally finished, but it would be nice if some Mac Users could test how it works so far with Wine... if we find bugs now, it could help

R, OSX, should creating SVGs request XQuartz
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 hi, on OS X, when you try and use something which depends on X11, and you don't have XQuartz installed, you receive an error message, it directs you to download XQuartz, and then it euthanizes your process. (my guess is that there is a skeleton X11 dylib installed in OS X by default, and it is responsible for the error message and the

Helpful Hints for OS X Users (Idiots Guide?)
Hello, I have been busy working away at getting Darwine to run on OS X with no luck... I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times, but I was continually getting gdi32.dll errors. This guide was tested on OS X Leopard 1.5.6. The following guide is how I set it up. The steps may vary slightly for you. Be sure to read this whole thread before actually trying some of the things listed here,

Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
I suppose Zach Drayer makes the Darwine version from thisismyinter.net. I tried his version 1.1.3, and it broke my Wine, so have gone back to 1.1.1. Hopefully the next build by either can fix OpenGL as well. I read it can't compile because of a dependancy on an XQuartz library which is too old in the current version. XQuartz 2.3.1 is also overdue. Maybe Kronenberg is waiting on them, too. It

Trying to run Spelunky: OpenGL, Mac OS X and Wine
Hi. I'm an OS X user trying to run a freeware GameMaker game with Wine, and I'm running into some trouble. The game is called Spelunky (available here: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=4017.0 ). Whenever attempt to run it with Wine, I come across a couple of errors: err:dmloader:IDirectMusicLoaderImpl_IDirectMusicLoader_SetObject : could not attach stream to file

Re: OpenGL issues on OSX (wine 1.3.21)
Hi James, thank you for your kind reply. The XQuartz folks recommend to logout and back in to have the DISPLAY variable set correctly, which I did. But I will also try a reboot to be sure. When I start something with wine, the XQuartz icon comes up automatically, so I am pretty sure that XQuartz is used (Apple's X11 is not active). I had another try with WINEDEBUG=+wgl, perhaps that brings

Xrender and OpenGL troubles in Darwine
Hey all, I'm very new to Wine, but I was very excited about the potential behind it, so I tried installing the 2.2.3 X11 XQuartz package from http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/Releases and kronenberg.org/darwine 's stable 1.0 version of Darwine on my Macbook that is running Leopard 10.5.3. The installs were easy, but I'm having some difficulty now with actually getting some

I've gotten the Wine 1.3.8 built on a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 1.6.5 and Apple's X11 XQuartz 2.3.6 (xorg-server 1.4.2-apple56) I managed to get most of the prerequisites built, and my final configure warning only contains the following: Code: configure: libv4l 32-bit development files not found. configure: libgphoto2 32-bit development files not found, digital cameras won't

Best way for rgl's .onLoad to fail?
On OSX and Linux, the rgl package currently requires X11 libs to be available for linking. Recent versions of OSX don't include them by default, so I'd like rgl to fail nicely. Ideally, it will load a library that doesn't need to link to the X11 libs but will still allow WebGL code to work, but that's complicated, so I'd like a stopgap. I can detect that the failure is

Include X11 on Mac
Good day, I wanted to ask if there is a way to include either X11 or XQuartz into a custom compiled wine? The idea is that the program will run whether or not the user has XQuartz installed. Basically a fallback that will be included with the .app that holds the wine binaries. I am new to Mac and I had some success but I want to understand it more, where the config files of the included XQuartz

Best way for rgl's .onLoad to fail?
If I recall it correctly, at least on Linux, rgl only needs X11 when rgl.useNULL(FALSE). Is that correct? If so, I would say dependency on X11 is optional and therefore you should be able to load the package even without X11. Or is it that it still requires X11 libs but not an X11 server? Screen goes white while playing WonderKing
Hello, I'm having difficulties running WonderKing (http://wonderking.ndoorsgames.com/center/default.asp) on an Intel Mac version 10.5.8 using Wine 1.1.35. I was able to download and install both programs successfully, but when I run WonderKing, I'm able to get to the first screen where you can check to see if you have all the files needed to run the game (I have all of them), change from
