Configuring duplex printing as default: how?
How do you get a printer mapped by Samba to allow duplex printing, or better yet, to set duplex printing as the default? We're trying to migrate an NT4 domain to Samba, with a Solaris 7 server as the new PDC and print server. If our HP LaserJet 8000 DN is mapped via the old NT print server (\\OLDBOX\printer1), printing is duplex by default, but the printer properties allow the users to change

Duplex Printing
Hi People, This may be slightly off topic if so please let me know. My situation is I have a bunch of Fedora clients connecting to a CentOS Printer server (setup using cups). I have gone through and used Vendor supplied ppd files where possible. And basic printing is working. But, Duplex printing doesn't. The Printers I am using are mostly Brother / HP with a few MFD's from

Duplex printer settings
Hello, I have a samba 2.2.6 print server running on Solaris 2.7. It has been working wonderfully for a long time. Now, I'm setting up the server to automatically download the printer drivers to the client PC. This also works great, except for the duplex option on my duplex printers. The correct options appear in "device settings" (such as "flip on long edge"), but do not

force duplex printing
Hi all, I use samba + cups. I would like to force duplex printing on some of my printers. I didn't find a solution on the client side. Is there any solution on the server side ? I saw the following example in smb.conf man ://| cups options|/ = |"raw,media=a4,job-sheets=secret,secret"|/ Could i do the same and add duplex=duplexnotumble ??? The smb.conf example seems strange to me

Mouse configuration in Wine/Crossover
Hi everyone My question is about mouse wheel. In M$ Windows, there is control panel, where I can set number of lines scrolled by mouse. How to set it in Wine/Crossover? I'm using M$ Excel under Crossover and this is important for me to set this value to 1. Thanks in advance!

[PATCH net-next v4 1/3] virtio_net: propagate linkspeed/duplex settings from the hypervisor
The ability to set speed and duplex for virtio_net is useful in various scenarios as described here: 16032be virtio_net: add ethtool support for set and get of settings However, it would be nice to be able to set this from the hypervisor, such that virtio_net doesn't require custom guest ethtool commands. Introduce a new feature flag, VIRTIO_NET_F_SPEED_DUPLEX, which allows the hypervisor

[PATCH v4 3/3] qemu: add linkspeed and duplex settings to virtio-net
Although linkspeed and duplex can be set in a linux guest via 'ethtool -s', this requires custom ethtool commands for virtio-net by default. Introduce a new feature flag, VIRTIO_NET_F_SPEED_DUPLEX, which allows the hypervisor to export a linkspeed and duplex setting. The user can subsequently overwrite it later if desired via: 'ethtool -s'. Linkspeed and duplex settings can be

AW: AW: duplex settings [ was Re: parsing fix for spoolss & s amba-2.2.5]
Hello Jerry Of course, here the Details: Samba2.2.6pre2 is running on a Sun Sparc Solaris 8 machine as standalone. I am testing with an lj4050tn printer by using both postscript and PCL drivers (HP drivers). All the Driver download and Printer configuration (duplex,trays...) from a Win2000Pro works no problem. After the driver has been downloaded and the printer properties has configured (with

CUPS printing from Windows
I have replaced a WinNT4 PDC with a Samba server. I'm not experiencing problems with file sharing/locking at all, but printing is another issue. In this network, there are several dot-matrix printers that are ONLY printed to using a DOS application, and a laser (HP 2300, PCL and PS) that is primarily used for Windows printing. Problem: Windows clients (using downloaded drivers from

How can I set NIC duplex before installation?
Hello, I have installed CentOS 5 onto a server this afternoon using NFS. The NFS 'server' has a 100Mb/full-duplex interface, the server I installed CentOS on to has 4 x 100Mb interfaces. However, the installation was painfully slow to start with, and by using ctrl-alt-f2/f4/f5 I could see that contact with the NFS server was intermitently failing. Soon after some of the packages had

force duplex mode for Apple LW8500 printer
Hello. We have an Apple LaserWriter8500 printer that has a duplex printing unit. The printer is configured to print on both sides of a sheet by default (e.g. if I print a document with unix lpr command, they print on both sides). However, I couldn't manage to make my Win2k desktop to print dual-sided output on that printer although I am sending the jobs to the same LPRng queue (routed through
