'Windows' path using GetFullPathName() -- code below.
My question is how best to do the opposite -- not necessarily from a
'Windows' program.
Ex., given a path such as 'C:\PRETEST\GEM01494\GEM01494.RTF',
how do I get
'/home/justin/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows/pretest/GEM01494/GEM01494.rtf'?
I currently have a 'solution' using a lookup table

~/.mime.types - format conflict with standard /etc/mime.types?
Hi,
It seems that wine (or rather cxoffice) installs a non-standard
~/.mime.types file, and that makes other programs (e.g. lynx) die. Is
there a bug here? Whose?
Its format differs from /etc/mime.types (from the mime-support package
on debian etch):
# Users can add their own types if they wish by creating a ".mime.types"
# file in their home directory. Definitions included

Magellan Roadmate tools 3050T & Suse 10.2
I am trying to access my GPS using wine 0.9.24 0n Suse 10.2 and Cxoffice 6.0
Beta 3a . Cxoffice 5.03 does not work at all with my Suse 10.2 installation.
The Magellan road mate tools work well enough in both cxoffce beta and wine,
however wine seems to handle it better when importing POI ( Points of
Interest) files. Overall I think the wine included with Suse 10.2 is doing a
better job -

PROBLEM: Filesystem became readonly, then kernel crashes on shutdown
Hi All,
I just had "an issue" with my Linux 2.6.1 kernel. While working, I
tried to rf -rf a directory, and was told my filesystem was mounted
readonly (which it wasn't). I then shut the machine down, and on
shutdown, I got a "kernel BUG at fs/ext3/super.c: 411". Full report below:

I'm using wine 1.2rc6 with Kubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx)

FreeCell
I have converted my parent's computer to Linux (Fedora Core 3) and have
down-loaed Crossover and tried to get three applications working.
TurboTax 2004 -> Works great
Peachtree-> Still broken and no error output (this is lower priority)
FreeCell -> Getting error below
Of all the applications I need (for political reasons:>) Freecell is the
most critical. I was NOT expecting this

Problems with a .fon font
I'm trying to run a program under wine which includes three fonts which are
installed by the program. Two are TrueType and they work correctly. The other
is a .fon font, but when I run the program, every character displayed in that
font looks the same - the glyph whose code is 0x80 seems to be used to
represent every character. I've looked at the font using fontforge and there

Fedora Core 2 Problem:
----------------------
Between Fedora Core 2 test3 and Fedora Core 2 production,
Red Hat turned on a facility to allow user processes to
allocate 4 Gig of memory (instead of the traditional 3G limit).
Unfortunately, this meant that some Windows programs would
get shunted into addresses over the 3G limit, which had never
happened before, and which many Windows programs choke

Larousse Multilingue: stack overflow in exception handler ?
Hi all,
I'm trying to run the Larousse Multilingue Dictionnary
pack. I've tried to run it under wine 0.9.17 (from
codeweaver), 0.9.25 (from debian testing) 0.9.28 (from
debian unstable) and 0.9.29 (from source).
My wine setting is functional since I can use an older
Larousse dictionnary (Bibliorom), no problem at all for any
of the versions above.
I downloaded a (legal) version of the

CodeWeavers Outlook for 2009
One great result is that we're continuing to see a lot of broad success stories; an awful lot of applications just work better now than they ever have with Wine in the past.
We've just shipped a lot of those 'under the hood' improvements for games out in CrossOver Games 7.2. We're really pushing Direct X 9 support pretty far along, and getting ready to move on Direct X 10.

No Fonts
I've just installed wine after being away from it for a while (been
using Cedega and CXOffice) and after using both winecfg and Sidenet Wine
to configure and install, I have no fonts in dialog boxes and on Windows
buttons. I've heard of this problem before, but can't find a solution.
Can anyone offer a solution?
Thanks

Problem with symlinks
Hi,
currently I'm trying to extend my existing backup concept but I have
issues due to symlinks.
rsync has problems with symlinks. First some background information:
I regularly back up my / and /home from my desktop PC and my netbook to
my Synology DiskStation (500GB) using rsync 3.0.6 with this script:

Odd behavior in an exclude-file
I decided the most secure way to deal with backup/firewall issues between my
work and home was to encrypt a portable hard drive and make it my backup.
Lug it back and forth and sync as appropriate. So I wrote myself a little
rsync script which grabs all the files I think of as taking work to recreate.
Which is given as follows:
rsync -avl --stats --progress --timeout=300 --exclude-from
