RPG Maker 2000: games won't run
Hello!
I've come across a problem with Wine (version 1.5.2) running RPG Maker 2000. The editor itself works fine, but I can't run any games; neither from the editor (test play mode) nor starting them directly by running wine game.exe.
When I directly run a game, this happens:
Code:
ranmaru at kodama: ~ % wine RPG_RT.exe
intel_do_flush_locked failed: Input/output error

Changing Quota downward for special Mailboxes? (2.1.6)
It seems there is no way to correct te quota limit downward for some
mailboxes, like:
quota_rule9 = UCE-TMP:storage=-10%%
The idea is to not eat up the users storage with spam, so that spam
stays in the queue (for some time) while real mail gets delivered.
There *is* a line
} else if (*value != '-' && relative_rule) {
in quota.c, but nothing else handles it,

Spiral SIP Request problem
Hello,
I am using OpenSIPS to register all the users and planning to use asterisk
for Auto Attendant, Queues, Voicemail and Conference Bridge.
I have a scenario where the signaling does not happen properly:
1) A user from Opensips dials an extension 7000 which is an
auto-attendant extension. The call is routed to asterisk to play the auto
attendant messages like Welcome and Dial the

macintosh metadata madness
Like many other Mac OSX users, I have found it frustrating that rsync
is not as usable
as one would like it to be on OSX. I've posted some software on my
website
that I find useful, and that others may find useful as well. It
provides tools that allow
one to access and manipulate OSX metadata, and in particular, to
backup (and restore)
this metadata to a non-OSX, unix machine (using

ugh, continued ldap madness, cont'd
After a brief stint offlist (thanks Bradley), I'm closer to getting
SMB/LDAP working but now am encountering something very odd, which he
suggested I bring back to the list for "further evaluation". :-)

Partial Naming Madness
Hi, I am having the following issue with a partial. During initial page
load, I am doing a "render_partial_collect ''foo'', @foos", and all goes
well. Each foo partial makes use of a variable inside called ''foo'' (and
can get foo.id etc).
After all the partials are loaded, I need to :update a div corresponding
to one of the partials (ie re-load the

date madness
I have a column called ''time_in'' and it is actually a timestamp so it
has a date and a time.
I created a method in my model called time_in_date which is simply
time_in.strftime("%m/%d/%Y")
I can''t do an sql find on a column that doesn''t exist so how do I find
for a specific date?

model mixin module madness
If I have several models which exhibit the same functionality, it seems
makes sense to create a mixin, ''include'' it in each model and save
myself some work and repeated code.
Where can I define a module which will be available to all models? I
can''t seem to find a documented place for them.
Alternatively, is there a Rails-standard way of achieving the effect?

Unicode madness
It seems like unicode is poorly or improperly tested with wxWidgets.
The documentation is wrong in several places and I have yet to get a
build that works with unicode. The include file that is supposed to be
included when you #define _UNICODE on windows does not even define
wxUSE_UNICODE. I''ll try to tackle this more later but we''ll have to
wait and see what happens.

Lib* madness
Hello,
I have a small problem which has grown (and continues to grow) over the
years. I have upgraded my linux system so many times, I''m worried that I
have old, insecure libs and executables somewhere on my system which may
or may not be used to gain access to my system.
How do I determine which libs I should have where, and which libs are
safe to delete? There are some programs

Friday Aug 21st @ 12 noon EDT: VoIP Users Conference, More Wideband Madness
Tomorrow, Friday August 21st at noon EDT, we'll be on the rampage
again with the VoIP Users Conference, much of which concerns Asterisk
and the Asterisk community. We've covered a lot of ground in the past
2 1/2 years, and had a lot of great guest presenters.
In the meantime, there's a new gadget to test at PhoneFromHere.com,
you can hear the wideband demo on the ZipDX.com bridge:

depmod madness
Hello,
What can I do when attempting to run depmod with these options:
-Ae -b base -F System.map
to prevent depmod from appending the following path:
lib/modules/2.6.18-53.1.14.el5/modules.dep.temp
to the specified base? I am specifying a base as:
-b ./lib/modules/2.6.16.23-custom
So depmod errors/fails with: FATAL: Could not open
