SIP "unphones"
Does anyone know if there are additional SIP devices out there which
aren't phones? I'm basically looking for a fully-automatic SIP
speakerphone. I'd like to be able to dial a sip-extension and make an
announcement (PA) and/or simply listen in to a room (baby-monitor).
Yes, I know, some of the more advanced phones can be configured to
behave like that, but it seems to a waste of

Newbie physical layout question
Sorry for the very newbie-like question. I have the
FXS part straight. The part I don't understand is the
FX0 part. Will I need the FX0 card if I am connecting
to a service like FWD? My goal is to get rid of my
phone line all together. I am under the impression I
will only need an FX0 if I'm connecting to the central
office side of the phone connection or to an existing
PBX. Bottom

New Ogg Vorbis streams
It might be interesting for this list to know that we've never had more
positive feedback for anything we've done on the website than the amount of
nice feedback we've got since introducing our Ogg streams.
Readers of this list might like to know that we've just launched another two
stations onto the excellent Ogg Vorbis platform. Again, we'd ask for your
help in publicising

=================================================
Mon-03-31-2008, 11:04pm U.S.EDT
Hello,
I''m trying to get a website entry page to work properly, while
learning Scriptaculous effects and javascript at the same time. I
wanted to use a couple of effects to add a little flash-style
animation. I managed to get the initial Appear to work but with a
problem: the image that''s supposed

Great Find
Just a good joke
An old couple went into a restaurant and ordered something to eat: one Coca Cola and one portion of French fries. The old man sat down and the woman, his wife, sat opposite him, and he began to divide the Coca Cola into two glasses, half for him and half for his wife. He divided all the French fries half-and-half. He gave half to his wife and kept half for himself. Then he began

Hello Voipcrazy,
It's funny you should mention that - we've just released (as in today) a FREE version of our OrderlyStats service for call centre and queue monitoring and management.
OrderlyStats features realtime (synchronous/message-based) display of all queue, agent and caller events so you can see what's happening in your call centre as it happens.
The control panel feature

Hi All
In windows I form part of a workgroup called test
Further I am allocated a IP addie which connects through a proxy server through a ethernet card.
I have all the info but I am not sure what goes where etc.
On windows partition I can connect to the internet but in linux not. I have set up all proxies etc in browser.
If I am wanting to connect to the internet do I do this through SAMBA?

Mixing LDAP and static
I want to read quota size from LDAP, but I have a static value for home.
How can I mix these?
Right now, I have this LDAP configuration:
user_attrs =
uid=home=/var/mail/vhosts/%d/%n,gosaMailQuota=quota_rule=*:bytes=%$M
which works fine, but looks up the uid attribute needlessly, and is not
scalable: I have to pick a different, always-existing LDAP attribute for
each static extra field

track a stolen laptop via rsync
My wife's Windows XP laptop was stolen a couple days ago. Every night the
computer automatically preforms an rsync to a Debian Linux computer (the
dumb-dumbs didn't steal that). My question: if the laptop successfully
connects to the Linux box can you think of anyway I can use this fact to
track the computer (maybe an IP address from its location., etc.)?
By they way I could really care

Mobile phone codecs ...
Not strictly asterisk related, however...
Here's an odd one for you.. I got a Nokia E90 and setup it's SIP client
which runs via Wi-Fi (anyone know if I can make it work via GPRS/3G?)
Anyway, in a fit of idleness, I thought I'd see what codecs it supports,
as I couldn't find it in the manual...
And it supports:
ilbc
g729
ulaw/alaw
No GSM!
How odd is that, given

Mac Mini and chan_bluetooth, has anyone told The o if it works?
I googled on this for about an hour and the most relevant hit I got was, of
course, the first hit:
http://www.sowerbutts.com/linux-mac-mini/#support
In it, he indicates that the stock Bluetooth module "should work, but
untested" - he doesn't qualify the statement with anything. Has anyone tried
chan_bluetooth or even the Bluz stack on a Mini or a G5? If so, under Linux
or OSX?

I meant to mention that the DTMF tones and dialtone sound like they're
played at such a high volume that they clip through the handset's
speaker. DTMF is rfc2833, so what I'm hearing through the handset isn't

Hello,
I am just curious...which is faster? Obviously if the machines are the
same size and all conditions are equal except for the OS.
