[Bridge] Sparc Bridge problems
Santiago, I appreciate your offer. I'm not really a kernel hacker, however I do know C and I would be willing to try if you point me in the right direction. Here is my first attempt using Debian running on an UltraSPARC: debian{root}:/root<512>strace -f -F -v brctl addbr br0 execve("/usr/sbin/brctl", ["brctl", "addbr", "br0"], [/* 16 vars */]) =

[Bridge] IPv6 + ip6tables packet bridging?
Hiyas, Is there a patch for the 2.4.x series to do ip6tables bridging of IPv6 packets? I was unable to go to 2.6 due to issues with large packets so still living in 2.4 land. If there are no patches, any ideas on what gets patched in IPv4 to allow this bridging? -Scott __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! Mail - Send 10MB messages!

[Bridge] Bridging Firewall with Kernel 2.6 failed
Hi all, I have a bridging firewall running fine with kernel 2.4.31 (Slackware 10.1) and iptables 1.2.11 Yesterday I install the new kernel 2.6.14.3 and iptables 1.3.4 but the bridging firewall doesn't work anymore. Do I need to patch the kernel 2.6 as what I did it for kernel 2.4? Or what I have missed? Regards, ro0ot

[Bridge] Problem with startup script
I put a bridging firewall together last winter (with some help) and have it= in production in front of a couple windows web and mail servers for going = on 6 months now. I used Fedora C1 with 2.4.22 kernel and 0.9.6 bridge-utils= . The bridge has solved a lot of security headaches. I use a modified start= up script written by David Whitmarsh that has worked really well. http://ww=

[Bridge] Bridging and bonding
Hi, I'm trying to setup a bridge with a bonded device (2 links, balance-rr). The problem is that after attaching the bonded device to the bridge the network throughput drops down from 110MB to 100KB. This seems to be due to the MAC address of internal devices of the bridge being seen on the external ports, where the bonded device exists (see also the URLs below). An arp packet from some

[Bridge] Bridging multiple tap interfaces
Is it possible to bridge multiple "tap" interfaces in Linux? When two tap interfaces are bridged together they are unable to "see" each other but they can bridge to external Ethernet interfaces or the hosts IP attached on the bridge. I saw some mention in the mailing list archives on bridging two user space processes but it didn't seem to have any conclusion. I also

[Bridge] QoS in bridging
Hi all, I have got one query on QoS in bridging in Linux My question is, when we define IP QoS ( using a tc command ) queuing discplines and classses, will these be applicable to bridged frames also ? I mean the packets that take IP path will be sent out according to QoS we defined, but the bridged/ swithced packets will also be sent according to this defined IP QoS classses ? My doubt is
