[Bridge] bridge doesn't broadcast properly
Hello list,
I'm setting up a virtual network consisting of several UMLs (User Mode
Linux) connected with the virtual bridge.
Communications works quite well between the host and the virtual machines.
Setup:
2 UMLs connected via tap-devices to the bridge (tap1,tap2).
The host uses the bridge-device br0 to talk to the clients.
Now I want to tcpdump the traffic between host and UML1 on virtual

[Bridge] Ip traffic not bridged
Hi, I am trying to set up a bridge that connects 2 user mode linux

traffic.

[Bridge] Linux Bridge + STP + VLAN
Hi,
we're running the standard linux bridge setup (redundant bridge) for 5 years now. So first of all, thanks to everyone involved for implementing the bridging feature in Linux.
Now I'm trying to bridge hosts connected to VLAN'ed Cisco switches using linux bridge.
I'm testing the following setup (Kernel 2.6.19, bridge-utils 1.2 on both bridges)

Bridging lan over wireless link
Hi all,
I want to create a bridge (see picture below) between 2 LANs with the same IP range (192.168.0.0/24) using 2 wireless links that use load sharing over multiple interfaces (as descibed here: http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.loadshare.html) for load balancing and fault tolerance. Both links should use IPsec for encryption.
I have googled for an example that does this but I could not find it.

Diagnosing IPv6 routing
I just got 50 Mbps symmetric fiber from AT&T and it includes a /56 of IPv6
addresses, replacing a much slower ADSL line. I never tried to get IPv6
working on the old connection. I'm using CentOS 7 as a gateway and it's
worked great for several versions for IPv4.
I'm not seeing any IPv6 default route on the WAN interface. I suspect I'm
not getting route announcements. I

[Bridge] Strange DHCP behaviour with bridging
Here is the scenario: I have one server with kernel 2.4.24 with a bridge br0
made of 2 interfaces, eth0 and tap0 (the last is an OpenVPN tunnel), and one
remote computer connetting through tap0. If I assign a static IP to the
remote computer, the bridge works perfecly (so I think the problem is not
OpenVPN-related). If I start a DHCPd on the server and I configure the remote
client to get the

Bridge Nat question
Hi,
I have a bridge firewall already working with 2 eth. I need to set up a
another eth to do NAT like http://www.shorewall.net/images/bridge2.png
The question is (using the same notation as the image), I need to put a
192.168.0.2.X in the eth1 and act as the bridged part (not use Nat). It
is possible ?
Thanks in advance.
PS : I''m not subscribe to the list. Please reply to my

net interface direct - no IP communication between guest & host
hi everyone
I wonder why, when I attach an interface like this:
virsh # attach-interface --domain win10Ent --type direct
--source nm-team --config --persistent --model virtio
host cannot ip ping the guest and vice versa, yet guest can
ping other nodes(outside of its host, connected via phys net
via a switch)
Would you know?
I thought maybe routing on the host, so I did:
$ route add -host

[PATCH 0/3] v2v: Implement MAC address to network/bridge mapping.
Deep in the discussion of this bug, unfortunately mostly in private
comments:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1594515
we decided it'd be more flexible for RHV if we had a way to map
individual NICs to target networks and bridges. This can be done by
adding a new --mac option so you can specify the exact mapping you
need:
$ virt-v2v [...] \

interface?
I have tried enslaving 512 devices. Although the brctl tool did not complain
while adding them, when I use brctl show command it only shows 255.
Thanks

[Bridge] Sniffing a linux bridge vs sniffing enslaved interfaces
Hi all
Assume that you have a linux bridge with two interfaces eth0 and eth1
enslaved to this bridge
What is the difference between sniffing the bridge and sniffing its
interfaces?
tcpdump -i br0 vs tcpdump -i eth0
Thanks

[BRIDGE]A basic question: what's the relationship of the Rx/Tx packets count between the bridge and its enslaved NIC.
I have a bridge br0, it enslaves two NICs: eth0 and eth1.
By using "cat /proc/net/dev ", i can see the Rx/Tx packets and bytes
through each interface. just like this:
[* time tick 1 *]
Inter-| Receive | Transmit
face |bytes packets errs drop fifo frame compressed
multicast|bytes packets errs drop fifo colls carrier compressed

find_by_sql ON STEROID possible?
find_by_sql BREAKS THE OOP BEAUTY and perhaps we can solve that.
NAMING CONVENTIONS can perhaps make find_by_sql much more clever.
lets imagine that relation:
publishers <- books <-> authors_books <-> authors -> universities (can''t find
something else than university for that last association :) )
imagine we want to fetch every book and every associated
