[Bridge] The problem of bridge+netfilter+nat
Hi, I met a problem when using bridge with netfilter. The kernel version 2.4.20, and the patch is bridge-nf-0.0.10-against-2.4.20.diff. Our firewall configuration is as follows, eth3,eth4,eth5,eth6 configured as a bridge with an IP address 10.0.0.1. The local net connect to the internet via the gateway 10.0.0.1 and SNAT is applied on the firewall. It worked but sometimes there are some

If I do ifconfig eth12 , I don't see anything which i am assume is normal. eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:24:E8:44:DB:CC BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0

Basic KVM networking question
A CentOS 6.3 box ("host") runs several KVM virtual machines, each of which has two interfaces attached to the two bridges br1 and br2 (and each thus has two IP's; one on 192.168.0.0/22 and one on 192.168.4.0/22); net.ipv4.ip_forward on the host is 1. Simplified diagram: host +---------------+ |

Setup multiple bridges for use with KVM
Running CentOS 5.4 x64. Have successfully bridged eth2 with br2 by following the instructions here: http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking (under the RHEL section) Have been running several KVM VMs successfully via this bridge. I am now trying to bridge additional interfaces by using the same routine. Each bridge is named to correspond with the ethX device its bridged with. Example of

[Bridge] Newbie at work - need some advise/guidence please.
Hello all, I am new to Linux Ethernet bridging. Let me first start with what I am trying to achieve. Well you see - I am attempting to have 2 main firewall running at the same time - one as a master and the other one as a slave. Yes, I would like to make use of Ethernet bridging in this scenario - as I understand it, all I need are two machines and STP enabled. I am running Debian

Centos 7 - "Device eth1 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization".
Hi All :) I have three servers, all with centos 7 installed 3 days ago. I need on them "old" naming scheme (ethX) for network interfaces, because of that: # grep GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX /etc/sysconfig/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rd.lvm.lv=centos_node-XY/swap rd.lvm.lv=centos_node-XY/root rhgb quiet ipv6.disable=1 net.ifnames=0" net.ifnames=0 was added and afterwards I ran:

hosted VMs, VLANs, and firewalld
I'm looking for some information regarding the interaction of KVM, VLANs, firewalld, and the kernel's forwarding configuration. I would appreciate input especially from anyone already running a similar configuration in production. In short, I'm trying to figure out if a current configuration is inadvertently opening up traffic across network segments. On earlier versions of CentOS

memory error?
I have just noticed this message in my kernel logs, reporting the possibility of an error with my memory. This would go a long way towards explaining the problems i''ve been having. This particular error is occuring when i''m not running xen so is obviously not something brought on by xen itself. The strange thing is that the NMI error is always followed by the TLAN: eth0: Adaptor

TC (HTB) doesn''t work well when network is congested?
Hi, I have a server and ten clients in a Gigabit network. The server has 125mbps network bandwidth. I want that the server has 40Mbps bandwidth reserved for client 1 (IP 192.168.5.141), and the rest bandwidth is for all other clients. My script looks like this (I use IFB for incoming traffic): #!/bin/bash export TC="/sbin/tc" $TC qdisc add dev ifb0 root handle 1: htb default 30

[Bridge] Lost TCP packet
Hi, i am testing two bridges by sending to it random packets using hping2. First i create a random-length file, then i send it a lot of time on the wire using this command: for ($i=0; $i<50000; $i++) { hping2 -q -c 1 -d $data_len -E random.file 10.0.0.10 } My problem is that some packets are lost. Here is my setup: PC1 (10.0.0.1) ===== BR1 --------- BR2 ===== PC2 (10.0.0.10)

[Bridge] Bridging Firewall with Kernel 2.6 failed
Hi all, I have a bridging firewall running fine with kernel 2.4.31 (Slackware 10.1) and iptables 1.2.11 Yesterday I install the new kernel 2.6.14.3 and iptables 1.3.4 but the bridging firewall doesn't work anymore. Do I need to patch the kernel 2.6 as what I did it for kernel 2.4? Or what I have missed? Regards, ro0ot
