[Bridge] skb timestamp set in bridge?
In 2.4, I relied on the skb->stamp to contain the timestamp of when
the packet entered the bridge. In 2.6, I don't seem to be seeing this
behaviour. Is this correct? If so, what is the best place for me to
grab the timestamp of the packet entering the bridge.
TIA.

Samba4 - Bind Config with DHCP
To those who will eb able to assist,
Platform: On Ubuntu 12.04 I have used the latest Git version.
I have installed isc-dhcp-server and bind9 from the plain apt repositories and have configured DHCP and BIND9 so that DHCP can update DNS entries via the hmac-md5 as so:
key rndc-key { algorithm hmac-md5; secret "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX==";}
allow unknown-clients;
use-host-decl-names on;

[Bridge] Bridge performance problem
I need some help understanding a strange bridge performance problem I am
seeing. Maybe I am making more out of this than I need to. I need your
opinions.
The setup:
The first configuration is two machines connected via a cross over
cable:
Machine A <====> Machine B
The second configuration is two machines with a Linux bridge between
them:
Machine A <===> Linux Bridge

Are they any issues still with hyperthreading processors, I've read and been
told by a few people to make sure its disabled in bios if I want to use * on
a hyperthreading machine.

Undo/reverse zpool create
Hi,
If I add an entire disk to a new pool by doing "zpool create", is this reversible?
I.e. if there was data on that disk (e.g. it was the sole disk in a zpool in another system) can I get this back or is zpool create destructive?

Can xen pv drivers take profit from this ?
Hello,
some have maybe heard of the GPL dirvers for KVM.
See:
http://www.techworld.com.au/article/316219/red_hat_open_sources_windows_virtualisation_drivers
Is there any profit that Xen can get from this ?
Matthieu.

[LLVMdev] llvm-mc build failure
Dear llvm,
Recently (approximately a week ago) Clang and LLVM started to failed at
building. Assuming it was my incompetence, I cleared everything and
started witha fresh checkout (not that I changed it though). I am on
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-Bit. And I configure and compile with CMake.
The error message I get at approximatley 66% is as follows:
Linking CXX executable ../../bin/llvm-mc

Do extra CPU's help?
Hi all,
We have Xeon-based system with only 1 (hyperthreaded) CPU (in a HP DL360).
We are seeing high load on multiple meetme session as well as g729
transcoding. My question is will putting an extra CPU help or does Asterisk
just run on a single CPU.

Poor network performance on Win2k3 DomU
Hi everyone.
I´m having this problem with Red Hat 5.4 running on a HP ProLiant BL460c G6.
I have two windows 2k3 x64, but network performance is extremely bad without
PV drivers, i mean, it takes a lot of time to access any location and if the
path has many folders it can´t conect.
Redhat provides some PV dirvers. I´ve installed them, but with no
improvements.
I tested another DomU, with the

Asterisk (meetme) and SMP/HT OK?
In the past, there have been reports of problems with Asterisk with
multiple processors and/or HyperThreading.
I'm having a !@#$ of a problem with an HPDL380 with 2 3.4gHz Xeon
processors, 2 gb RAM -- if I got 24 hours I'd think I had died and gone to
heaven :)
Am I missing something obvious like "Asterisk is single CPU, single core?"
I can't access the ILO so I

Hardware recommendations for XEN
Hi,
I am new to this list. I am planning for hardware upgrade for a new
Linux installation, and I am planning to have it Xen-based. I am
planning to use stable Xen 2.x. This is not going to be a
hyper-performance computer, just a home computer.
So here are few questions I have:
What configurations of CPU/Motherboard/Chipset etc. are already known
not to work, or have problems with Xen? Are

Hi the number of cpu cores that you see with top times 512Mbyte is the

LLD status update and performance chart
Hi,
Now that 2016 is almost over, I wanted to look back and summarize the
progress we've made to LLD this year, as I guess most people who are not
looking closely at LLD don't know very well about the current status. I
think I can say that this year was a fantastic year for LLD. Now I'm pretty
sure that that is going to be a serious (and better, in my opinion)
alternative to the

Hyperthreading ON causes OOPS on boot
I just tried to install CentOS (x86_64 4.4 and i386 4.3, not both at
once, when I found the 64bit version didn't boot, I tried the 32bit
version, same result) on a dual Naconda Xeon system. I get an OOPS just
after the IDE info is printed on the screen during boot (this is booting
off the CD during the install phase).
After mucking about with the bios settings (and many reboots later), I

Problems with hyperthreading in Windows HVM
Hi,
I have been trying to get Hyperthreading to work in a Windows HVM on
Xen 4.1.2 as described in ''xmexample.hvm''. I think I have set it up
correctly, but I can''t seem to get it to work. There is not much
documentation on it and most topics are from years ago. I''m curious to
know to whether this functionality is still supposed to work.
I''m aware that

Im trying to complile Asterisk on my new dual Xeon 3.0ghz EM64T machine.
Im running Debian 3.1, and have installed the 2.6.8-11-em64t-p4-smp kernel (and headers). The system is working fine and is detecting both CPU's (4 actually, with hyperthreading).
But when I try to compile Zaptel, Im getting this error:

Please advise: Asterisk on Dell PowerEdge 1750 w/ hyperthreading
I've to setup Asterisk on a Dell PowerEdge 1750 server. Its dual Xeon 3GHz
with Hyperthreading. People on this list who have experience with this
server please advise me how is the performance of Asterisk on this server,
what flavour of linux is good on it etc. Is Hyperthreading going to be a
problem or not. I once read somewhere that hyperthreading caused some voice
quality problems in
