Confusion on Primary and Secondary
Hello and welcome,
Can you please point to any online "PiNUT" docs, if that is a project
name? I did not find anything that looked specific to the key word.
In any case, the "primary" role of upsmon applies to any UPS that it is
connected to and can directly manage, so in case of a power outage it tells
everyone else (secondaries) to shut down first, and then runs the UPS

stale/dead ups logic
hi:
when testing nut in our environment, we found something that nut
maybe tune for "stale/dead ups" situation. currently the "dead ups"
are assume alive(eg: host shutdown unnecessary), unless it is in the
"OB" state before going to stale.
our environment (ServerA + ServerB forms a cluster):
ServerA-> usb to UPSA -> two PS power by UPSA and UPSB

Back UPS ES and data stale with disconnected device
Hello NUT Team!
I continue playing with NUT for Windows and USBHID-UPS driver I've got from Frederic to fix "Data Stale" problem.
It seems there is something wrong when Network UPS Tools service is starting with disconnected USB cable. UPSMON is writing "Data Stale" to output and continue do it infinitely, even the cable is connected back. Here is a short log:

UPS Reboots when Pi Reboots!
OS: Raspbian Lite 4.19 (Linux 5.4.51-v7l+ armv7l)
NUT version: 2.7.4
Install Method: Package (apt-get)
Device Name: CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD, connected via USB
Problem: This is a brand-new installation; the only step I've taken is my
initial edit of /etc/nut/ups.conf (which I'll post below). I started the
driver and after doing so issued a reboot command to my Raspberry Pi (sudo
reboot).

Masterguard UPS A3000
Hi,
I'm trying to talk to an old Masterguard UPS A3000 so I can determine
current load and status etc, to determine the best replacement options.
After a fair amount of google fu, and attempting different things, this
is where I have ended up.
First, environment:
OS: Linux (Debian Stable)
NUT Version: 2.7.2-1 (Debian unstable package)
UPS details (on the rear lable):

I think the "2"s here should be "1".
"powervalue is an integer representing the number of power supplies that the UPS feeds *on this system*."
So if UPS_251 is connected to one power supply on

New UPS ABB
Hi Team
While i;m searching on the internet about UPS SNMP monitoring , I found
this NUT server. Thank God, But sad news is that my UPS is not listed in
the compatibility list.
But I download NUT server on my ubuntu node and just discover it
sudo /lib/nut/snmp-ups -DD -a ups
unfortunately got the below error message.

setting up CYBERPOWER CP1500PFCLCD
Hi,
Another beginner question. I spend hours trying to find the solution for
how to configure winnut properly but I' struggling to make it work. I want
my QNAP NAS TS-231 to work as a master and send signal to the PC to shut it
down during power outage. I configured QNAP properly (like this:
http://geekbeat.tv/qnap-adding-external-devices-qnap), but I don't know
what to do next.

Correct. You can think of upssched as operating on raw UPS status, rather than the calculated powervalue that upsmon uses to decide when to shut down.

MGE Pulsar STS
Hello,
I'm trying to communicate with a MGE Pulsar STS 16 using nut
under Linux, but I've had no luck so far. I haven't saw it
supported in the doc, so if there's anything I can try...
Thanks,
Arnaud.

My mistake - I gave you the wrong advice before. For MINSUPPLIES, I'm used to either a 1:1 UPS-to-server ratio, or 2:1 where the server can run with either power supply unpowered.
I just tried this in upsmon.conf:

Sweex 1000VA UPS
Hi,
I'm trying to get a sweex ups working with nut on debian sarge.
This one:

It's shipped with UPSmart and according to the compatibility list it should
work with the
genericups upstype=7 driver. But it doesn't.
I get:
