xen 3.4.3 on CentOS 5.5 dom0: multiple nic issue -- eth1 won''t restart
Hi Folks: I have a strange problem with multiple (2) NICs on a CentOS 5.5 dom0 setup running xen 3.4.3 and have been struggling to fix it for some time. I could not find anything by googling or searching through this list but that is probably because I couldn''t figure out the correct search terms. After I configure my bridges the command "system network restart" fails for eth1

Multiple NIC usage in RHEL5
Hello all, I''m using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (with RH Virtualization) and a Dell Poweredge 2950 with 10 NICs. My virtual operating systems are all RHEL4, and I''ve installed 4 instances. I''m trying to set up the virtual operating systems so that the physical NICs are allocated to certain operating systems. Using the following tutorial:

xen hotplug scripts not working
Hello Everyone, I have set up a xen server with 10 physical network devices using the bridge mode of XEN. This is because I want to split and separate the network traffic for security reasons. Maybe the best way is to use pci back hide. But I want to understand what is going on here. For all testings I have only activated eth[0-3]. My first tests were successful. I have created a VM using

[Bridge] aoe/vblade on "localhost"
hello ! i try to use a network technology on one single host, which wasn`t designed for that. to give a short overview of what i`m talking about: AoE is just like a "networked blockdevice" (just like nbd/enbd) - but without tcp/ip. AoE kernel driver is the "client end" (see this like an iSCSI initiator) - and an etherblade storage appliance is the "server end"

Server moved - networking stopped
This is all on SuSE enterprise 10 Our server was moved to a new location last night. After powerup there was no sign of networking so our ISP reconfigured the box. Outbound connectivity had previously been through eth1 but is now through eth0 Since restarting Xen I now have no network connectivity through the hosts. I have tried to provide all the relevant details below. If anyone has a moment

Bug#639941: Xen "line 118: sigerr: command not found" error for unassigned network interfaces
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.0.0-1 Hello guys, Ik running Debian stable (squeeze). I run a virtual pfsense firwall in a DomU. I created multiple bridges. The interfaces itself (except eth2 (connected to br_lan)) itself don't have a IP assigned. I use them to connect to other devices. grep my-network /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp (network-script my-network-script) root at

dummy interface shenanigans - CentOS6
tl;dr - a renamed dummy interface is not persisting across reboots on Cent6. I have a situation where I need to rename a dummy interface on my system. I have a total of 3 dummy interfaces: dummy0 dummy1 adummy0 I've been doing some puppet testing in a vbox VM to get this all sorted out to deploy to a group of boxes. Every time I reboot my VM, it comes up WITHOUT adummy0, but I notice

vsftpd and active mode connections causes FTP session to hang
I've encountered an odd error state that I haven't been able to resolve yet. I have a customer that, for what ever reason, wants to use active mode occasionally for FTP xfers. What they have noticed, is that after you switch to active, and issue a command (they do 'ls', I've done other things like 'put' and 'get', etc.), the connection hangs. If you wait a

"Virtual" routing
Hello. Is it possible to create different routing policies for "virtual" (as opposed to a real NIC) interfaces? I mean: be able to set up different rules for each of the "dummy0", "dummy1" interfaces, and/or aliases to the "lo" interface like "lo:0", "lo:1", etc. [For example, I assigned a zone (called "priv") to a subnet

outgoing domu network dies after a while
I have a OpenSuse 10.3 with xen 3.1.0 running and it''s been running fine for a few months. This past weekend it suddenly started to act up and after some troubleshooting I can now say that it seems like the guests(domU) loose the outgoing network pipe, from the console I can see that the TX counter is stuck at the same value but it''s no errors. It behaves as if whatever I try to
