domU NAT network cannot connect
Hi, I followed this guide<http://wiki.kartbuilding.net/index.php/Xen_Networking#Routed_Networking_with_NAT_2>, and started my xend service with nat-network support: (network-script network-nat) (vif-script vif-nat) Then I started my domU with the following vif configure: vif = [''ip=10.0.0.1'' ] my domU is a win7 system, and I configured the network as: ip:

Can''t get NAT access to internet from Dom U in my small network
I have followed the nat advice from this guide: http://wiki.kartbuilding.net/index.php/Xen_Networking#Routed_Networking_with_NAT_2 I have googled internet for weeks and read almost every thread in this forum without getting a working NAT on my system. My main question is how exactly will the iptable rules with MASQUERADE or POSTROUTING look like if you want access to the internet from Dom U ,

Unable to create more than 1 VM
Hi, I have already set up a VM that can access the network using the NAT mode. The problem I have is that I''d like to create another VM that also has access to the network. The problem I get is that when a VM is started, the other one will refuse to start. Actually it starts, but when I want to "xm console" into it I get the following error message: "xenconsole: Could not

Understanding XEN Network-Nat configuration
Hi @all, if have configured my XEN-Virtualizations next to this tutorial: http://www.howtoforge.com/debian_etch_xen_3.1_p4 and it works fine. But i don''t understand how the nat networking really work. On the domU''s I configured the interfaces with a gateway (10.0.0.254), but in the hole virtual network (10.0.0.0/8), there is no interface with this ip. when i changed the

Xen with NAT networking.
Hello there, I was trying to setup a XEN NAT. I think I follow all the instructions but still failed. In NAT environment, the tap.x is the gateway for the guest os, right? but the xen always set the gateway to vif.x, and the guest os will never be able to communicate outside. one trick I did is to add a "xenbr0" bridge, and all the tap.x interfaces will automatically be part of this

Different networks over NAT
Hi, I've been struggling for almost a week now, but I can't get the following setup to work. At home I have class A network: 10.0.0.0/16 with a masquerading gateway 10.0.0.1 running tinc. At work (http://www.eastsite.nl) we have a 192.168.0.0/24 network. The gateway is called 'ed' I've set up tinc on 'gateway' and everything is working fine from

xl nat and wrong IPs
Hi, I''m currently switching from toolstacks from xm to xl. Because I have a rather complex network setup with my domUs, I use xen''s nat capabilities. But what works fine with xm behaves slightly strange in xl: I use something like the following to establish a domU interface within my vif part: ''type=vif, mac=00:16:3E:06:DA:B2, ip=192.168.2.1, vifname=fw11,

options netloop nloopbacks=<n> ignored
Hi list, since release 5.3 all kernels ignore options netloop nloopbacks=<n> within /etc/modprobe.conf If <n> is smaller than four there are always four vifs created. If <n> is bigger than four the appropriate number of vifs are created. Is this expected/new/feature/bug? Henry

kernel oops/IRQ exception when networking between many domUs
Hi, I try to build experimental networks with Xen and stumbled over the same problem that has been described quite well by Mark Doll in his posting "xen_net: Failed to connect all virtual interfaces: err=-100" here: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2005-04/msg00447.html As it was still present in 2.0.6, I tried 3.0-devel and found NR_PIRQS and NR_DYNIRQS had been

Asterisk behind NAT and Kamailio --> Internal IP in SDP and not "externip"
Hi, We have some Asterisk servers that we are moving behind a NAT to preserve public addresses and make room for growth. This is Asterisk 1.4 NAT works very good with the externip/localnet-setting when we are connected directly to our teleco. But when I try to use NAT and put them behind our Kamailio something interesting happens: The media-address in the SDP is the internal ip and not the

Xen with Broadcom Tigon3 BCM5704
Greetings all: Loading Xen up on a server with 2 of these GbE adapters. I''m using the first one as the main interface and the second one for the NFS storage network. When things are running, I can see xenbr0 and pif shows it attached to eth0, although I don''t see any peth0 or vif0.0. I can connect to the main address on the machine without any problem. The trouble

XCP jumbo frames in vm
Hello all, Not sure if I am completely missing something but here goes. I have XCP 1.0 running without any issues. I have the mtu set on both the storage network, the corresponding PIF, and the VIF to 9000 and when displayed in ifconfig it shows that this is indeed true. I have several CentOs 5.6 VMs running in HVM mode (i.e. no xen kernel) which attach to the the storage network through these

kvm in Centos 5.3
Hi All, Is KVM support in CentOS 5.3 complete? That is, can a CentOS 5.3 system host KVM VMs or does CentOS 5.3 only support being virtualized via KVM? I ask because I installed KVM on a CentOS 5.3 host, but I can't find a kvm module anywhere in /lib/modules/* (let alone the running kernel). using both bridged and routed networking
Hello, I''m using Debian Squeeze with Xen 4.0 HVM. Both running 64bits. I''ve got 4 domU''s requiring the bridged setup to work, I''ve got an IP address for each. Now I need to setup routed networking for the rest of domU''s. I just changed the configuration in xend-config.sxp and restarted Xen. Routing started to work, while there are still

Help! - Double NAT issue
Hi folks. Please don't flame me but I've been googling around for days, read a tremendous amount, tried everything, and still no go. This is most definitely a typical newbie question. - I sure hope there's somebody(s) out there who'll humble themselves to help me out. I've set up an 'out of the box' basic Asterisk server running on Slackware Linux. - It basically

Error installing VM: "Process exited while reading console log output"
Hi, I'm trying to install a qemu-kvm virtual machine on a Debian GNU/Linux squeeze amd64 host, using virtinst 0.500.3 and libvirt 0.8.3. First I tried this command as a normal user (in groups kvm and libvirt): $ virt-install --connect qemu:///system --name test1 \ > --ram $((128 * 1024 * 1024)) --vcpus=1 --description 'Test VM 1' \ >
