building with SSL support in non-std directories
I'm trying to get configure to find the right libs/includes to build with SSL support (openssl), but it just seems to refuse! I tried passing " --with-ssl=openssl --with-ssldir=/usr/local/ssl ", but this didn't seem to help. In /usr/local/ssl is: drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2006-12-11 13:25 bin drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2006-12-11 12:15 certs drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096

Actually what is the SQL DB used for?
Is a RDBMS required for Dovecot to run in small (SOHO) environments? (Does it store indexes to the mail, etc.?) Or is it strictly leveraged for larger-scale environments? I'm asking, because the INSTALL says ./configure and make is enough for most...but as my previous post requested...there isn't anywhere that lists Required Packages/Software. We need to get that out there before 1.0RC

NEWBIE: Package Requirements List?
I can't seem to find a succinct listing of the packages (and optional packages) required to compile dovecot. I see references to various RDBMS's, but nothing that says I actually _require_ one, etc. I see references to openssl, but similarly, I don't see that it's technically required. Is there a link I'm missing that indicates the pre-conditions (pre-installed/configured

connect errors
All: I'm trying to run the cygnus-port on Win2K Server. I have the dll and the ported code (exe). It seems to run without access violation or anything. Since Windoze doesn't have a good RSH, and I'm only going to use this between my two laptops, I decided to setup an rsync server on one of them...no problem. Seems to run, shows "Starting..." in the log...good conf file,

SQL user_query question
Hi, I am working through setting up a virtual hosting system using Dovecot, Postfix and Postgres on a CentOS 5 box running an install of the dovecot-1.0-1.2.rc15.el5 RPM. The question I have is, given this password_query SELECT clause, which all return valid values from the database: user password domain can I use a %d in the WHERE clause of my user_query? The reason I ask is that the

Dovecot newbie (migrating from qmail)
Ive been using qmail+vpopmail+courier-imap for many years but its time to retire that server so I thought this might be an opportunity to see how I could use Postfix and Dovecot to provide the same services. Im running Dovecot 2.1.9 and Postfix 2.9.4. I have spent a few days reading through some of the docs on the wiki (there's doesn't seem to be any large overview of Dovecot concepts or

command line options
Is the wiki up-to-date on the command-line arguments that can be passed to dovecot? I don't like the fact that I have to hard-code the "listen address" in the config file. Even though it shouldn't change (rarely if ever), when I have a multi-homed host, I need to specify only one of the interfaces. Would it be possible to either: 1) Make --listen into an optional,

I figured that someone reading this list might want to take a look at the proceeding, considering that the version of Snort in FreeBSD ports -is- affected. -----Forwarded Message----- > From: CERT Advisory <cert-advisory@cert.org> > To: cert-advisory@cert.org > Subject: CERT Advisory CA-2003-13 Multiple Vulnerabilities in Snort Preprocessors > Date: 17 Apr 2003 11:30:47 -0400

Calling Samba print server with an aliased DNS-name fails with Samba 3.2.7 but worked with 3.0.30.
Hi. Tonight, I upgraded our Samba print server running Samba 3.0.30 to Samba 3.2.7. This netbios name of this server is 'EUPRYMNA' and the DNS-name 'euprymna.falw.vu.nl'. Since this is a difficult name to remember, we created a DNS-alias 'printserver.falw.vu.nl'. Connecting to printers by calling the server by it's DNS-alias worked in 3.0.30. After the upgrade

how to get row name using the which function
Dear All, Probably a very basic question, but can't seem to work my way around it. I want to which row has the maximum value. But what if the row names do not correspond with the row numbers. In the example below, you'll see that the max of example is row 4, but the name of row 4 is "9". How do I get R to return "9" as value, instead of 4. example <-

Debugify and Verify-each mode
Hello, @Anastasis: what do you think about this? Do you mind if I implement the debugify-each mode and refactor the code to have DebugifyFunctionPass and DebugifyLoopPass? I am sorry if it bothers you, I should have done this earlier, so you could focus on fixing the optimization passes. FYI, my debugify-each is quite ready, I am having Debugify and CheckDebugify before and after each ModulePass,

[LLVMdev] Unit testing with random input using JIT
If you know the prototype of f, you can just use getPointerToFunction and cast the result: // Let F be an llvm::Function* referring to 'f'. void (*f)(int*) = (void (*)(int*))JIT->getPointerToFunction(F); int a; f(&a); // read a I haven't compiled this, it's a guess at the usage from memory.
