long command line cut in 2 parts
Dear group, I have this command line in a function: zz<-merge(transform(merge(value,allcon,all.y=T),SHORTDESCRIPTION=NULL,VALUE= NULL,PL=-VALUE*pl,quantity=NULL),PosB,all.x=T,sort=F) I want to cut it in 2 lines (just for convenient purpose). Here is what I did : zz<-merge(transform(merge(value,allcon,all.y=T),SHORTDESCRIPTION=NULL, +

Netlogon scripts
Hi List, maybe i missed a hint on google, but i didn?t find a answer to following question: is it possible to cascade the logon scripts...? for example: there is a standard script for all client-pc?s called: netlogon.bat and in addition there is for some client-pc?s a additional script called by the %m switch in smb.conf kind regards Arno

mge-shut driver fails almost after every reboot
Hello Arno, FreeNAS doesn't come with a compiler and I had to compile with the patch on FreebBSD-9.3 and then copy the produced mge-shut. Unfortunately it didn't work out. For every try I was getting "Connection Refused" and when I tried /usr/local/libexec/nut/mge-shut -D -a <ups_name> I was always getting 'No matching HID UPS found'. I returned back to the

unkillable imap process(es) with high CPU-usage
Hello, I am having a problem with my dovecot-daemon. It is forking one or more (I saw up to perhaps 8 of them) imap processes under my user name. These processes are consuming a lot of CPU time and are not killable: > PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND > 8616 arno 20 0 2900 1600 1204 R 98 0.2 1196:38 imap Stopping dovecot does not quit these

Email Obfuscation Techniques
The other thread brought to my attention that only the <email> syntax obfuscates mailto links. Plus, while the entity encoding technique probably fools some scrapers, I doubt it's all that effective. Even Gruber uses the Hivelogic Enkoder [1]. So, what are people using for obfuscation and are you using any scripting or automation (filter that takes a pass before or after Markdown) to

mge-shut driver fails almost after every reboot
Hello Arno, Thanks for the quick reply. FreeNAS is FreeBSD-based. Yes, I could test a patch. As I have mentioned, this behavior is not seen at every single reboot but after most reboots. Also, some times, the connectivity can be lost without even rebooting. That is not very often can have happened a few times. Best regards, Panagiotis On 2/4/2015 5:44 ??, Arnaud Quette wrote: > Hello

smbfs and i/o errors
Hi guys, I hope I've reached the correct mailinglist. I'm experiencing a problem with smbfs. You can mount shares, but after a while, the connection is broken and all sorts of strange stuff happens. I've got a share called /mnt/ntshare which remotely mounts an NT host: [arnow@foo /mnt]$ ls ls: ntshare: Input/output error cdrom/ floppy/ [arnow@foo /mnt]$ [arnow@foo /mnt]$ dmesg |

Eaton 1500 USB constant disconnections
Arno, thanks for taking the time to write back and no worries about lag, we're all busy and I'm grateful there is a community to interact with to begin with. You're right - the problem went away once I actually configured nut. I guess I was too "cautious" and when I saw the errors I thought something was wrong with the usb connection and didn't try to get nut going

Adding a NOP bitcode instruction
Hi, I'm trying to follow the instructions on how to add a new bitcode instruction: http://llvm.org/docs/ExtendingLLVM.html This is my first foray into the guts of LLVM and I'm not sure I'm doing things the right way. I came up with a patch that adds a NOP (no operation) that will work with llvm-as, llvm-dis, and lli. It would be nice if one of the experts could take a look and give

Automating kerberos authentication on Mac OS X?
Is there any way to "automate" kerberos authentication on Mac OS X? Here's the problem: When a user wants to access samba-3.0.2a -server from a Mac, he/she has to run "kinit" to get the principal ticket. If this is not done, Mac's tools (Finder) will try to authenticate with NTLM, which is and will be disabled on our servers. Of course, this fails miserably. I

dovecot and ntp: Fatal: Time just moved backwards
Hallo, I am running dovecot on a PC (a workstation) to have a mail client independent storage for my mails. Now I would like to have the system clock set correctly by using ntpd or ntpdate (using debian/sid). The problem is, that the PC is not online at boot time, but is set online on demand manually using "pon" to start the pppd later. So ntpd cannot sync the time on boot time

Miserable read performance (factor ~60 too slow)
Hi, I am trying to migrate my files from a Windows XP Pro box to a new server running OpenSuSE 10.2/Linux 2.6.18 (x86_64) and Samba 3.0.25b. The Server is a new Athlon 64 X2 4000+/1GB with two 400GB SATA disks in a software RAID1 configuration. The share file system is reiserfs on a 350GB RAID1 partition. I have a small LAN with three PCs on 100MBit Ethernet and a Laptop on WLAN on a 4 Port

How to enable both remote and local users?
Is there any way to enable both local (/etc/passwd or smbpasswd) users and users authenticated remotely by winbindd? I have a problem with samba-3.0.2a not recognizing local users at all, if winbindd is enabled (and vice versa, of course). However, I'd like to have local users take precedence over networked users, i.e. samba would let in a user, if he/she is a local one and only ask the

mge-shut driver fails almost after every reboot
Hello Arno, > Question: have you also tested oldmge-shut? > Otherwise, that might be interesting to do so and send back the > results of these tests... Yes, I've tried this as well with worse results unfortunately. This driver seems to be even more unstable. When it gets able to set communication with the UPS (which is not always the case), it usually lost it again after a while.

Hi Arno, According to that link, unless I'm missing something, as the 5P2200RT is a 2U sized unit (2 rack spaces) the proper firmware should be "03.00.0000". Firmware
