Can't build 5.9 with KVM on a 6.3 host - DHCP hang?

Dovecot Setup as just a local IMAP server.
Hey All,
Id just like to start by thanking Timo Sirainen and any others that
helped produce such a great IMAP server, it was a breeze to set up with
no previous experience in mail servers.
What I am trying to do is setup a spare computer to run Dovecot and that
It stores all my email from my accounts which are all accessed through
POP. This way instead of being tied to one mail client (and

great disappearing email mystery
Have there been any issues with dovecot and using outlook express
(imap) as an email client? I have had a couple of users come up with
random missing emails. Im trying to figure out if it is user error,
or something wacky in my mailserver. I cant find anything telling in
maillog files or my messages. Dovecot version is 1.0.3. Its ok to
reply to me, I get list messages digest.

Corrupted transaction log file, dotlocks..?
I'm new to Dovecot but I've been able to get it up and running on a test
basis without too much difficulty. I'm running dovecot-stable-20050508
with maildir, under Linux (an old Gentoo setup that's been stable for
about 2,5 years). Mail client is Thunderbird.
However, in the course of experimentally copying the accumulated
household email (95000 emails from the last 10 years)

Syncronizing two IMAP servers
I spend time in two places, in different countries.
I have a local network in each place,
with IMAP servers on each network.
I collect email by fetchmail from various servers,
and read email on my laptop with KMail.
I tried using just one IMAP server, but this proved impractical.
So I have two collections of the same sub-folders, on the two servers.
I have two questions:
1. Is there a simpler

I'm trying to boot into the shell of a XenServer 5.6 (I believe CentOS

Install from source of dovecot 1.1.2
Hi guys,
I have what I'm sure is a stupid question. I'm trying to install
Dovecot 1.1.2 from source and my command sequence is this:
cd dovecot-1.1.2
./configure --prefix=/usr --exec-prefix=/usr --with-mysql
--with-storagesmaildir --sysconfdir=/etc/dovecot
make
make install
cd ../dovecot-sieve-1.1.5
./configure --with-dovecot=../dovecot-1.1.2
make
make install
I don't get any errors

fetchmail on demand
I hoping this is an RTFM ... and somebody can point me at the correct
'FM' :-)
I've just spent a while setting my new Debian , allways-on box in what I
suspect is a generally useful configuration.
I have fetchmail(1) collect mail from many mailboxes via pop3.
I store these mails in different mboxs according to rules in procmail(1)
I then offer these out to the household via imap

Dovecot stable slow
A few days ago I installed dovecot stable to replace uw-imap. The
install went well and all boxes were converted ok. When accessing the
new imap server though, certain operations seem much slower, in
particular, moving mail between boxes is very slow, and I have received
several complaints from users that the mail server has slowed down. I
can't figure out what the slow point is as maildir

POP3 protection
I have some users that I will not allow to use POP3 thru my system, but
force them to use webmail.
Would it be possible to put an extra option in dovecot.conf to force this:

Sorting messages by date
I've recovered a load of messages from a different mail server without it's
index file (it was corrupted). I now have thousands of messages which
display in Outlook Express (yes, you may puke at this), all as today's date.
However when I read them in Pine, the date of each message is displayed
correctly, but they're in no particular order whatsoever.
There are several

Order of emails
Hi
We have an issue regarding the order in which emails are displayed in an
imap folder, which our customers regularly complain about. By default,
emails are returned from a folder in the order in which they were placed
into the folder, which makes perfect sense. However, if an email is moved
into another folder, it will always appear at the top, no matter how old it
is.
We could order the

Pattern Master - won't function
I tried installing the real thing, but since it's a pay-for program, I downloaded the demo to try as well, and I get the same error. So the program I'll post about here is Pattern Master Boutique 4.0 Demo (http://wildginger.com/downloads/PMBDemoForm.htm) (that link takes you directly to a form to fill out, and then you can download the demo for free).
The installer worked fine, and the

5.1 surround channel coupling
>Yesterday I have finished writing the ambisonic pan filter for oggenc.
May I ask what this "pan filter" is?
I made some tentative suggestions for coupling Ambisonic B-format in a post
"Vorbis Ambisonic coupling" on 4feb07
I gather from the last monthly meeting, that some of you, including Monty, had problems with the phase behaviour of B-format.
Would anyone like a

How to manage email with an ISP restricted mailbox size?
Sorry if this is a bit off topic but I'm hoping list members here might
have some ideas.
Aim: use ISP provided email with restricted inbox size but keep an IMAP
accessible archive of emails (including 'sent' messages) on a remote server.
Scenario:
- Don't want to run my own SMTP server
- Have free ISP email with 1Gb mailbox limit and spam filtering that works
well
- Have remote

Finding common an unique elements in character vectors
Dear R-list,
I have a problem which I think is quite basic, but so far google has not
helped me.
I have two vectors like this:
vector_1 <- c(Belgium, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands,
Portugal)
vector_2 <- c(Denmark, Luxembourg)
I would like to find the elements in vector_1 that are not in vector_2
so that i get a vector with these countries: Belgium, Spain, Greece,

Sieve filters on folders, different from INBOX
Hi all
Is it possible to configure Dovecot's sieve plugin to act on message
arrival to folders, other than INBOX?
I wish to move messages fetched by pop3 fetcher to special folder, or sort
outgoing mail to folders, specific
to their recipients.
Thanhs in advance,
WBR,
