Thunderbird doesn't popup on new mail
I have a question : i've upgrade dovecot from 1.1.4 to 2.0.9 and everything is fine except thunderbird clients , that no longer show a popup when new mail arrives. Fault in dovecot 2.1.17
The system hang, linux from scratch. I have changed the live kernel from linux-2.6.35.4 to linux-2.6.32.61 , to see if the fault still occurs. The kernel 2.6.35.4 was working fine with all version up to dovecot 2.1.12 , from which i made update to 2.1.17. dovecot -n # 2.1.17: /usr/dovecot21/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 2.6.32.61 i686 auth_cache_negative_ttl = 1 secs auth_cache_size = 2

domain stripping
Hi, using dovecot 2.0 and I'm using a couple of user DBs, sql/prefetch and pam. Currently if the user logins with username at domain it authenticates off the sql DB and works fine. If the user logins with username with no @domain it fails on the sql lookup and succeeds on the pam user DB. However I was wondering if I can have another sql DB lookup that says when the user logins and fails

Two mux-fix patches against current liboggz
Two bugs in liboggz mux ordering bit me tonight. These are patches against current GIT, I'll apply if no one else volunteers, but I'd prefer a quick review. I'm surprised they'd not been caught, as it was causing oggz-sort/oggz-merge to mis-mux potentially all files containing theora (the frame->time calculation accounted for stream version backwards, and the result was always

[PATCH] xl: xl.conf(5): correct advice re autoballooning vs. dom0_mem
# HG changeset patch # User Ian Campbell <ijc@hellion.org.uk> # Date 1354011148 0 # Node ID 3174dc24e3efb0c5b964c244dbfb0218a03a38cf # Parent 541b0e1a36c86db5df04988dd4ade5430776a7f2 xl: xl.conf(5): correct advice re autoballooning vs. dom0_mem. The advice was backwards, you should really disable autoballoon if you use dom0_mem. Also add a reference to the command-line docs.

Question about implementing samba4 cleartext passwords
Hello I want to create a domain using samba4 and from there to authenticate users against ad. CRAM-MD5 authentication but plain-md5 password storage.
Hi all, Got a question on configuring dovecot, I'm still new at this so I might be doing this all wrong. I want dovecot to authenticate the mail client using CRAM-MD5 so I've setup the config in dovecot.conf: auth default { mechanisms = cram-md5 passdb sql { # Path for SQL configuration file, see doc/dovecot-sql-example.conf args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf

md5_verify(...): Not a valid MD5-CRYPT or PLAIN-MD5 password
'afternoon list! I use mysql as userdb, which contains two type of password schemes: DES and MD5-CRYPT. I read there : http://wiki.dovecot.org/Authentication/PasswordSchemes that both are supported by dovecot. Unfortunately, dovecot keeps saying: Not a valid MD5-CRYPT or PLAIN-MD5 password when looking for a user with DES encrypted password. Is dovecot able to recognize password

Invalid password in passdb: Not a valid MD5-CRYPT or PLAIN-MD5 password
Hi friends, I am migrating imap-courier to dovecot, I use openbsd+postfix+imap-courier, and now I'm trying to run openbsd+opensmtpd+dovecot. In the beginning it was a little traumante but it works OpenSMTPD correctly. Now I have configured dovecot, and I hope that your backend authorization is the same database that was used imap-courier. In /var/log/maillog receipt the following error

When using CRYPT to encrypt the password, you must put the following in dovecot-sql.conf.ext default_pass_scheme = CRYPT I hope this can help more people, in addition to leave you as I did my query: password_query = \ SELECT password \ FROM users WHERE login = '%u -- editor de sue?os
