I/O leak
I upgraded from rc12 to rc14 last night... sifting through the logs I noticed
the following. I point this out since it appears dovecot is in high gear
bug-fix mode. This issue is not big for me; I rarely stop dovecot. My init.d
script for dovecot is basically
stop)
killall dovecot imap-login
I am guessing there might be a more graceful way to stop dovecot? Or rc14
fixed this? I see in

FW: smbmount question
Nevermind...need to read the whole msg...
I didn't notice you were installing WINS on
the NT box...hence the reboot.
Standard practice for Winxx:
1. Install, reboot
2. Update, reboot, repeat....
I support about 25 pc's-it annoys the hell
out of me how MS manages updates. How many
Internet Explorer security updates have there
been so far this year-22? Each one of them

rc14 and rc15 performance issues
Hi,
I am stuck at rc13 because rc14 and rc15 have both failed to keep
up with imap connections on my (slow old) system. I have the problem
where if a lot of people check their email at once (like at the
top of the hour) then my load goes way up and things slow to a
crawl. My setup: Solaris 10 on an E220R, mbox format, imap and imaps
only. I also use "login_process_per_connection =

45second delays on log in
Dear List Members,
We have been running Dovecot as an IMAP server for web based access
to email for our customers. At the moment, when the server is under
load, some users are finding that it takes 45 seconds to log in. I
was wondering if any of you guys would have any tips. I would love
any information that would help solve or debug this issue.
Background information:
The server is

New Icecast2, Ices install
Thanks Geoff that was it. I've got every thing installed, I've just got to
spend a little time playing to see if it works.
Thanks again.

Authentication error after authentication query (for Eudora 5.2 on Mac)
Greetings all, I'm a new user of Dovecot and want to say thanks for the
great software.
I am having a problem at the moment. I run a heterogeneous network with
windows and Mac clients logging into a Fedora Linux 2 box running
sendmail and previously UW-IMAP, but now Dovecot. I am using strictly
pop3, plain authentication with mbox format. Every computer in the
network is working fine with

return code question
We are trying to automate the running of our rspec tests for our Rails app
on a build server using Capistrano. The problem is that Capistrano seems to
think that the command called to run the model tests failed when in fact I
believe it succeeded. I believe the problem has to do with the return code
from the command I am running.. The command I am running is:

Postfix, Dovecot SASL and Entourage smtps authentication fails.
Tere.
Recently just migrated from Sendmail 8.14.3 to Postfix 2.5.6 and
switched from Cyrus-sasl 2.1.22 to Dovecot 1.1.13 sasl, all are compiled
from source and I have used Dovecot for a long time, since alpha versions.
Everything worked well for Outlook Express, Outlook and Thunderbird
clients, but Microsoft Entourage 2004 or 2008 clients smtps fails -

Authentication and relays
Hello,
Just installed 2.1.0, and it seems to be working well. I have a problem
I thought user auth on 2.1.0 would fix, namely, I want to control
access to an icecast instance which is the source for the primary
broadcast icecast. [backstory: a few months ago, the stream was
originally broadcasting directly from a box in the engineering room,
encoding from a booth line. Listeners would

TLS timeout with Thunderbird
I'm trying to get dovecot working with various clients on my new
mailserver. I installed the base rc2 that comes with OpenBSD 4.0,
then upgraded to rc14 when I ran into problems with TLS and
Thunderbird. The server has no problems with Mail.app on my laptop,
but any connection attempts from Thunderbird timeout after the TCP
handshake.

legend of maps generated by function symbols
I generated maps with the function symbols (graphics). These are basic
maps generated with :
symbols(x,y,circles=myvariable)
where x et y are spatial coordinates corresponding to replicates of
"myvariable".
I would associate legend to this kind of maps, is it possible?
Regards,
Marion.

try FlexMix RE: mulitmodal distributions
Hi, Marion,
I believe the package FlexMix provides a more generalized version of
finite mixture modeling than is found in mclust/mclust02.

Low volume coming through live stream
That was part of it, the other thing I believe was the mono cable, I put a
stereo cable on it and now it's working great. Your howto has been a life
savior in getting this set up.
Thanks,

pseudo R-squared with likfit (geoR)
We want to compute a pseudo R-squared for a model whose parameter
estimation was based on maximum likelihood (function likfit, package geoR).
I tried to compute the R2 proposed by Maddala (1983) which compare the
maximized likelihood for the model without any predictor and the
maximized likelihood for the model with all predictors.
I got a really low value (0,01%). Did I miss something? Are
