Bug in shorewall
I just added 802.1Q VLAN support to redhat initscripts. And after support was ready, I tried to restart shorewall. Well it blew into pieces. Seems like shorewall can''t handle device names like: eth0.3 very properly. That''s default naming of vlan devices. eth1 is master device and 3 is id of my test vlan. So when I added to interfaces line: home eth0.3 detect seems like

Compiles, but untested for now. It works with one more change on top of your patch: diff --git a/src/doveadm/dsync/dsync-mailbox-export.c

W2k/SQL Authentication problems 3.0.1, help please
I upgraded from Samba 2.2.8a to Samba 3.0.1, since doing I'm having problems with my SQL Server and applications running on Windows 2000. When a users (running a windows 98 client) attempts to query the SQL Server, either using ODBC (even the Test Sources) or an application that uses the db. I get a login failed from the sql app, and from the ODBC I get: "Login failed for user

Changing it will create accidental on-list traffic, which inconveniences far more people. It's not like replying to the list is hard now, if it's what you want to do. I'm stuck using

Setting a Default Domain
I'm working on migrating to Dovecot. At the moment, I have a mail path that includes the domain, so I'm using %d to get that. However, if users authenticate without specifying a domain (i.e. using "bob" instead of "bob at wiktel.com"), then %d expands to nothing. I'd like to have that expand to a default domain (wiktel.com) instead. Is that possible? Thanks,

Problems with Mailstorage path.
Hi all, my environment: dovecot-1.0.rc15 Fedora Directory Server 1.0.2 Currently I've configured dovecote to find user's mail folder like this: dovecot.conf mail_location = maildir:/var/vmail/%d/%u/Maildir All my domain mailboxes are under /var/vmail, as evident. But there are some users whose mail folders are directly under /var/vmail like this one: /var/vmail/myuser1 at mydomain1.com

Trash and quota
I can't seem to find the magic combination to get dovecot to ignore the trash folder when counting quota. I've got 1.0rc15 and using maildir quotas. Not being able to trash messages when over quota is quite annoying. the docs suggest the following: plugin { quota = maildir:storage=10240:ignore=Trash } but as my quotas are defined per user via mysql DB, I'm thinking that I need a

.ssh files
I burned an .iso cd of the home dir of a server, my .ssh files are there, but if I restore from the cd using rsync -azurvp /mnt/cdrom/.ssh/* ~/.ssh the permissions seem screwy. I'm trying to use my id_dsa ssh key to login to other servers, but they don't acknowledge the key because the "permission are incorrect". Any Suggestions? Did i screwup, by using mkisofs &

Dsync Header Hashing
Is there any way to disable the header hashing in dsync? I'm doing a one-time migration to Dovecot using imapc. The FETCHes for Date & Message-ID take a non-trivial amount of time and it's not clear to me if they have a function for a one-time migration. -- Richard

Dsync Header Hashing
We've completed our migration to Dovecot (yay!), so this isn't critical for me any more. But this change might still be a useful addition to Dovecot. It doesn't create any non-standard behavior (like my patch for non-atom flags). Non-atomic Flags in APPEND
I'm using Evolution and Dovecot (on the localhost) and receiving these errors trying to move a message into the IMAP folder: C00095 APPEND INBOX (\Answered \Seen NotJunk "Junk" "NotJunk" "receipt-handled") {1022} C00095 BAD Error in IMAP command APPEND: Flags list contains non-atoms. SSL and STARTTLS
I wanted to enable SSL on some alternate ports so that a limited number of people could try SSL access. But doing so enabled STARTTLS in IMAP, so that all IMAP users got surprised (at least those whose clients attempted to use it automatically). e.g.: # IP or host address where to listen in for SSL connections. Defaults # to above non-SSL equilevants if not specified. imaps_listen =

Live DB backups with rsync?
Is it possible to do live backups of a running DB with rsync??? I was just talking to livevault.com & they (only on win boxes) say they can grab changes from a client's live DB & sync them remotely. It sounded like BS to me, but I'm neither a DB guy or sync'ing expert. Steve Mallett
