MANAGESIEVE patch v3 for dovecot 1.0.rc28
Hello dovecot users, I have updated the MANAGESIEVE patch to apply and compile against dovecot 1.0.rc28. Not much has changed with respect to the functionality of the previous version however: ChangeLog vs v2 - Updated source to compile with dovecot 1.0.rc28, tested with rc27 (debian package) - Daemon now uses the same location for .dovecot.sieve as dovecot-lda This is typically

1.0.rc28 / v1.0 plans
I'll probably release 1.0.rc28 in a few days. Would be nice to get some testing for it first. http://dovecot.org/nightly/dovecot-latest.tar.gz contains pretty much what it's supposed to be. I've now replied to all the mails I was planning on replying, excluding the few patches that are v1.1 material. If you think I forgot to reply to some mail, please resend it. I think the

mbox sync/lock issue, rc28 and later
Help! I just noticed this error this morning, we have been getting a lot of these in rc28 and rc29, not in rc27 or before: Apr 6 07:22:52 karst dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] IMAP(jaearick): mbox file /var/mail/j/jaearick was modified while we were syncing, check your locking settings Pine coughed up an internal error, no core dump, and dovecot basically doubled the size of my mailbox by

rc28 : can't set quotas with userdb + passwd file
I'm using dovecot 1.0 rc28 - great software! I have a virtual hosting setup, with passdb and userdb both using a passwd file. I cannot get per-user quotas put in the relevant field of the userdb to work. They appear to be completely ignored; only the setting from /etc/dovecot.conf is applied. Can anyone confirm that this is working for them? If it is, can you post the relevant bits of

Bug-report for rc28: Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file
Hi, When I try to open the attached mbox file I get the following warning in Thunderbird 1.5.0.10: 'The current command failed. The e-mail server responded: Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file'. I also tried this with squirrelmail, with the same result. The Dovecot version is dovecot-1.0.rc28, compiled from source. The attached mbox was correctly read from, and written to in earlier

[ rc28 ] dict{} seems to be ignored
Hi all, I'm new to the list, so ... hello everybody :-) Let's go to the point... I'm implementing quota over imap support in my mail server, so since a number of days I'm tring to upgrade to the new 1.x version (debian sarge) ... After having a number of troubles using the debian backport packege I am now using the -rc28 package that I have built by myself... I installed

Latest MANAGESIEVE patch -- how to start daemon?
Hello list, I'm using Dovecot 1.0.0 on FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE and applied the latest MANAGESIEVE patch v3 [1] which seems to have worked smoothly, i.e. all hunks succeeded and no compilation problems. Now this may be stupid question with an obvious answer, but I am at a loss at how to start the daemon? What's the binary called that starts the sieve server? Is there a special way to

Outlook 2003 - Disappearing favorite folders
Hello all, I'm having an issue with Outlook 2003, where favorite folders seem to disappear. Specifically, they are subfolders of the Inbox. The Inbox favorite folder stays there without a problem. Any clues as to what the problem may be? With the previous IMAP server (courier I believe) this wasn't a problem...so it leads me to believe that Dovecot might be the problem. I'm

Lock file issues
First off, just want to say Dovecot is great! We have been using it for several months now in a fairly large installation with only a few problems. We are running 1.0.rc28 on three servers with 3 Horde/IMP boxes talking to Dovecot. The user's home dirs are located on an NFS server and the indexes are stored in their Maildirs. I have mmap_disable=yes and lock_method=dotlock in dovecot.conf.

Userdb authentication cache
Committed to CVS HEAD already. I think this is small enough change that it won't break anything too badly for v1.0, but I'd like to get some testing first. Here's a patch against branch_1_0 CVS and latest nightly snapshot (looks like they haven't been updating for a while, started building new a new one now): http://dovecot.org/patches/userdb-cache.diff Please try and tell me if

Duplicate E-mail Problem
Hello all, Definitely congrats on the 1.0.0 release! Anyway, I'm having a problem, that may or may not be related to Dovecot. Specifically, duplicate (and sometimes triplicate) emails are appearing. These emails have exactly the same queue ID, so its not that they were sent multiple times. These dup emails do not show up to me ever. Postfix is being used as the SMTP, and it hands it

Problems using GFS2 and clustered dovecot
I am trying to use dovecot. I've got a GFS2 shared volume on two servers with dovecot running on both. On one server at a time, it works. The test I am trying is to attach two mail programs (MUA) via IMAPS (Thunderbird and Evolution as it happens). I've attached one mail program to each IMAPS server. I am trying to move emails around in one program (from folder to folder), and then

Dovecot and Outlook - IMAP Timeout error
Hey guys, I'm having a problem with Dovecot and Outlook. I'm testing with Outlook XP (2002), but the problem occurs with Outlook 2003 as well. I'm using Dovecot 1.0.rc28. The specific error generated (for IMAP) is: "A connection to the server could not be established. <servername> is now in offline mode." In the details: "There may be a server or network

.Call: is new attribute of protected object auto-protected
Hi, I have an SEXP obj in a C function called via .Call(). The obj is protected (in fact it is an argument to .Call and therefore automatically protected). If I set an attribute of obj does the attribute become protected too? Here is an example SEXP foo(SEXP obj) { SET_NAMES(obj, NEW_CHARACTER(3)); /* are names protected or not? */ ... } Thanks, Vadim [[alternative HTML version
